Great stuff. Bennett is going to have a big year. Especially if he gets to play with JAGR! Please Treliving.

Great 'show me' deal for Flames.

Time for Bennett to show his worth for the long term.

What's that leave left in cap for Jagr?
Is cap friendly correct? 5,215,790

Amazing signing. Great to see the Flames and their players apply logic and reason to contracts and not base it all on hype and potential.

Hope Sam breaks out during this contract and we're talking about a big extension for a future captain in two years.

Makes sense for Bennett. If the Flames get Jagr, he's likely going to play with Bennett.

It pumps up Bennett's #'s and makes it more feasible for a higher $$ contract in 2 years.

Is there a better GM in the league that keeps his re-signings at or below market value? I think not.

Exactly the deal that should have been done.

A tad lower on $$ than I thought but certainly the 2 years makes so much sense.

Wow, great signing. And done early enough that by the time camp begins, it will be old news and behind everyone (everyone being Bennett).

Plenty of room to sign Jagr now.

What is most encouraging is its clear Treliving has learnt from past misrakes (bouma). He has locked up brodie, johnny, bennett, hamilton etc. all under market value. Excelent work.

Now Jaromir please

A year shorter than ideal as it lines up with the entry level deal expiring but it only leaves Backlund to deal with over the next 2 years.

A nice 2 year window here to see how competitive we are.
