To this day I am still completely stumped as to how Chevrier didn't receive a single PIM in that end of game brawl.

Default Some Loose Ends

This is an extra post with new info that doesn't really belong anywhere else,
specifically to address two questions that came up earlier. I think both were
asked by EastCoastFF.

1 - Another newspaper blurb about the status of Doug Dadswell and how the
Flames still had use for him (at least for 2 more weeks)

2 and 3 - Two columns written at the start of the final series (one writer each
from Montreal and Calgary) regarding the growth of Al MacInnis.

I think the headlines are the most telling part...

"...on verge of stardom..."
"...now a complete player..."

the implication being that he wasn't really thought of as either thing before,
but this season and his current play changes the perception of him.

ok. it's on! Bring on the Habs

Yes re: MacInnis, very interesting , I would say it took until the 85-86 season around Calgary to recognize we had a great dman on our hands, but league wide it took a while more- he's about to come out- with a Smythe trophy in the wings, and a few first team all-star seasons around the horizon- there were good Dmen in the league around this time (Bourque especially) but by 1988 I think the proof shows now that MacInnis was actually one of the best PLAYERS in the NHL -the tools just didn't exist to recognize it- and sadly the full realization (league wide) didn't come until he was in St. Louis...

I remember kids in school talking about how MacInnis was so overrated by us Flames fans. Even after the year he scored 100 points.

That Puppet-Frog thing is so cringy and has not aged well at all. Try pulling this stuff today? Yah, I don't think so.

RE Suter: Sounds like if there had been a Game 7 he would have played. I had no idea he was so close to returning.

Guys backed then aged so poorly. Bob Gainey looked like he was 50 years old in those clips! Granted he was no spring chicken at that point, being 36ish, but still, players age so differently now.

Colin 'Cahh-kee' Patterson. LOL!

Well, it looks like that‘s everything from the file folder, so I guess that about wraps it up.
Thanks for following along the last 106 days.

Not sure what these messages I got about "green text" mean,
but it was suggested I take another look into the file and it
appears there might be one more game after all.

FYI, today will be a double post at 2:55 and 3:00 (MT).
Unless you're sitting there at post time, you'd never know
the difference, but just wanted to give a heads up.
