There's been an aerial survey plane around the last few weeks, most likely that. In the last few days there has also been a low flying Cessna Caravan doing some sort of survey work too. That one is a single engine job though.

This virus will be with us for at least another year or two. I don't know what the end game is for the Atlantic Bubble, but it's wishful thinking to believe it can be maintained indefinitely.

I never understood why they are still implementing their bubble. I could understand their worry and need for a bubble up until July or so but after that point they should have lifted those restrictions.
The psychology of fear, it’s amazing to see first hand. Once the walls went up, their perception of the outside world really changes. Then it is hard to convince yourself to open the walls and expose yourself to certain death.
It has become that the only acceptable number of cases is 0, and the only acceptable risk level is 0.
I have family out there, and spent a month in the bubble this summer.

This needs to change for international travel as well. I'm on my third Q this year and am dreading another at christmas. It's insane that Canada is not looking at ways to mitigate the risk.

Pretty funny that the whole conversation was about more funding from the federal government, and not even a mention of the provincial governments travel restrictions that are the cause of Atlantic Canada being hit far harder than the rest of the country.

This is a discussion that the Feds should be having with the provinces within the Atlantic bubble, or for any other province for that matter that comes up with it's own Covid rules that may be more onerous than they are at the federal level. These provinces are the authors of their own problems in this regard so why should the Canadian taxpayer be expected to compensate them? The airports should be going after the provincial governments on this one.

I should clarify my post, I'm not blaming WJ. I blame the dumb premieres in Atlantic Canada who thought they could shut down their entire economy from the world for 1.5 years. The Atlantic bubble was a hysterical overreaction.
Social distance. Wear a mask. Ban large gatherings indoors. That makes sense. But cut off the Eastern seaboard from the world until the vaccine? Wasn't realistic.

Canadian Transport Minister Marc Garneau said commercial flight restrictions for the operation of the 737 MAX aircraft in Canadian airspace will not be lifted until the government is satisfied that all its safety concerns have been addressed, and that enhanced flight crew procedures and training are in place in Canada.
"Transport Canada safety experts continue their independent validation process to determine whether to approve the proposed changes to the aircraft," Garneau said in a statement. "We expect this process to conclude very soon. However, there will be differences between what the FAA has approved today, and what Canada will require for its operators. These differences will include additional procedures on the flight deck and pre-flight, as well as differences in training."
WestJet has already moved a couple of their MAX's from storage back to YYC in the last few days. No doubt getting ready to put them back into service once Transport Canada gives the clearance and WestJet complies with all that is required.
