Must See: Gulutzan drops F-bombs galore in expletive-filled rant to players
Glen Gulutzan stopped his team's drills during practice on Monday to explain to his players how to play the right way. The Flames head coach sternly communicated with an expletive-filled rant.

The Flames slow starts are because they don't force the issue enough because they play 50/50 hockey. That's great for limiting chances (most of the time) but it's bad for forcing the issue and making the other team make mistakes.
When they win a draw or control the play. When they back into their end or lose a draw I see Flames players that abandon board play to get back to their assignments or invite opposition forecheckers in by holding the puck behind the net or along the boards too long.

What he's saying is the type of coverage I'd love from sports media. Not some silly-ass "F-Bomb" counter.

I don't understand, don't you also complain he doesn't prepare the team enough?

I'm sorry, our definitions might not be the same.

I dont see 'swearing in practice' to be equivalent to 'preparing the team.'

If you think thats all it takes then ride that Gully train all the way to the station baby!

Which is likely how he is all the time....harping on the same broken record the players tuned out in January. The simple fact he is still preaching on playing the right way with a now relatively veteran group after 150 games is beyond concerning.

I don't have a problem with Gully's message there but I am not sure how it helps you mount a three goal comeback. The theme of games being seemingly lost twenty minutes in says a lot to me. Every win has to be 2-1 or 3-2 (OT) else you may as well quit.

The team is below average. That's a below avg gm, below avg coach, and as a group, below average players.

There's 12 games lefts in the season, with the garbage start last game, and the coach still trying to fix this chronic issue at this point is a complete lost cause.

This season is done. They are likely to lose tomorrow, and if by some chance they don't and by some miracle they even squeeze into the playoffs, it doesn't really matter.

They are going to easily be the worst team to qualify in the league, let alone the west. I'd be shocked if they muster more than a win or 2.

I think, it's too late for yelling. I hope the players finally understand the "right way" after 70 games.

Gulutzan is seen as a meek personality so its funny to the media when he throws a stink (or a stick).

Keep in mind no Monahan, Backlund, or Tkachuk.
What a pathetic looking lineup.

Ferland and Shore aren't gonna do anything with Gaudreau. If Monahan is out, might as well put Bennett with Gaudreau to give Johnny a bit more support. At least have one line that might have a chance at scoring a goal.

And that is proof that Monahan and Backlund will play. If they were going to miss it would look more like an NHL line up instead of placeholders.

I don't think Shore is going to play on the 1st line. He is just taking reps in Monahan's place.

What's the point of picking up Shore and Stewart if they are just sitting around and not in a game?
