Even Tam has said we need to find a different path forward.

Canada's top doctor said today the country needs to find a more "sustainable" way to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and future variants of the virus.

Speaking to reporters at the weekly public health briefing, Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam said all existing public health policies, including provincial vaccine passports, need to be "re-examined" in the coming weeks — because it's clear now that Canada and the rest of the world will be grappling with this virus for months or years to come.

"What we need to do going forward, as we emerge out of this Omicron wave, is recognize this virus is not going to disappear. We need to be able to address the ongoing presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a more sustainable way," Tam said.

JT can listen to the science. He chooses not to.

What we need to do moving forward is to protect the vulnerable in our society. If Canada’s top Doctor says it’s time, then it’s time.

In the coming weeks....Going forward.... As we emerge from this Omicron wave....

She is not saying drop everything now. You know that.

1. What science has he chosen not to listen to? Particularly with regards to your link.
2. Where in that article does it say that restrictions need to be lifted now?

There's a .csv file at the bottom which has the names, email addresses, postal/zip codes, and donation amounts for about 90K donors.

Site gone now?

When this bulls*** is all over, I hope there's a serious investigation into why the police response has been so goddamn pathetic, particularly with the situations in Ottawa and Coutts.

At least the cops in Windsor finally got off their arses this weekend and cleared those idiots out of there.

I am just pleased at least that nobody with my surname is on the list. Curious though about everybody else that didn't donate. Expected more Rebel personalities and such or even at least the local idiots like the Pawlowskis and Larry Heather, etc.

And I at least was hoping that the $1 or the $0.50 donations would have some good barbed comments, but no such luck there.

Do you actually think those ####ing idiots to put their own money where their mouth is? Ha.

They are at the other end of these scams.

UOttawa prof who thinks that drivers licences and insurance should have been revoked from the off.

Surely the multiple powers that be must be aware of this options which begs the question why haven't they acted?

Quote:
For someone with a background in criminology and the sociology and anthropology of law, this has been a “Disneyland” for research on the policing of protesters and mass events.

“Protests are dynamic things, you need to see how protesters adjust to police,” said Velloso, who has done similar fieldwork at other protests, including the G20 protests in Toronto in 2010, which culminated in over 1,000 arrests, and the 2012 Quebec student protests over tuition hikes.

Armed with a mask and earplugs — and sometimes deploying an app that measures loud noises — the University of Ottawa law professor tallies up protesters and police, notes where they’re located and where they move, attends media conferences and monitors social media.

There are two things about this Ottawa protest that are different from others, Velloso says. The first is the alt-right tenor of the event — although he pays attention only to the broad political context unless it affects the governance of a protest.

The second thing is the trucks, and that has changed everything, Velloso says.

“If you had the same quantity of protesters and removed the trucks, it would be a tiny protest. Sometimes there are more police than protesters.”

Police can’t arrest a truck, but they can do lots of things that target trucks, such as revoking drivers’ licences and insurance. These measures should have been used sooner, Velloso says.

“A truck does not have Charter rights. You don’t have the right to protest with a truck.”

That's what vaccine passports do, as the unvaxxed are vulnerable.

New Angus Reid poll showing low support for the protesters demands and the protesters themselves:

And also support increasing for vaccine passport and border mandates:

To be honest - I don't think we need to go wild with penalties for most of these people. There are some - who yes should see some penalities.

That said - we've saw in Windsor just the threat of action clears out a bunch of these people. There are a lot who will just clear out if you threaten something like this.

Hrmm, so you are saying they'll collapse like a Canadian Tire tent in a Chinook if the police just put a little effort in? HRMMMMM. What to do, what to do...well I'm all out of ideas, these protestors are just too sophisticated.

Also this is obvious but also eye opening. How people view the right to protest when its an issue they support:

https://twitter.com/user/status/1493224009130991619

To be fair - the question is pretty different. Right to protest vs blanket indigenous rights/environment

That's what I'm thinking.
Some of those trucks have been there over 2 weeks now in deliberate defiance.
Give a 48hr ultimatum or a something?

The article is already 10 days old… so we are getting to that point for sure. But I agree with what you said, don’t drop everything now, which we have not done.

So what science is it then in that article or elsewhere is it that Trudeau hasn't been listening to?

Ford just announced easing of restrictions.
Vaccine passports to be lifted on March 01. Eliminate capacity settings on the same date.
Masking to stay in place for the moment.
