I'm ####ing pissed don't care if I'm taking out on Monahan. He needs to do SOMETHING in games like this instead of being not terrible.

I can always count on the Calgary Flames to ruin my day. Gotta wonder why I do this to myself. What’s the definition of insanity…

Flames did ####ing eat them alive at even strength tonight.

So stupid that the refs let them work their lone PP muscle twice in quick succession, and on some terrible acting too. Even if its treated like a let them play type game, Flames walk away with this. Annoying.

As much as I've been a fan of his over the years, I am half hoping we can swap him for someone like Pavelski (along with assets) who can then immediately slot in above Backlund.

Calgary played down to their opponent tonight. It's what they do.

It was an oldie when he coached the Kings but works tonight

When the oilers got their game managed PP tallies I just started doing something else with it going in the background.

It helps a lot to bump them down in your priority list as soon as you can tell they're slipping. Then you don't end up wasting 3 hours completely.

Probably why I've kept an even keel mood on the PGT. I feel for any one that watched it attentively through not on mute. Truly awful production for a national broadcast, as per uje.

Streaky. Can't say I am very optimistic.

I like that we skate with most teams, and that we were noticeably better tonight, five on five.

But what's the saying, special teams and goaltending win in the playoffs.

Maybe Sutter did, but man if I was coach I would have made them watch hours of tape of the EDM power play. Although that might not have made any difference tonight as Markstrom should have had two of the PP goals.

Bengals won, Packers lost, Shapo won, Flames deserved to win but got PDO’d…

Overall that’s still a good day.

Honestly I’m not sure you see a lot of hockey games that they team that gets .867 goaltending wins against a team that got .936 goaltending…goaltending was the singular story tonight and Flames were by far the better team.

Honestly you don’t see undeflected point shots beating goalies clean in the NHL anymore and Markstrom let in two of those tonight, and the third goal is very stoppable too. Should have easily been a 3-1 lead for the Flames going into the third tonight.

IMO that’s probably Markstroms worst game of the season considering the circumstances

And it's a one goal game

Got PDO'd describes this one well actually.

Oilers seem good at that vs the Flames. Hopefully law of averages starts to play into that sooner than later. Both games this year were Oiler comebacks where the Flames tilted the 5 on 5 play and outshot and chanced them.

100% got PDO tonight.

.936 save percentage

13.3% shooting percentage (ignoring the empty net goal)

Oilers have had the worst shooting and save percentage in the league the last 15 games, it was always going to revert back to the mean tonight.

Koskinen was good…but also got very lucky on about 5 chances

And Markstrom was bad, there is no other way to describe his play tonight

100% . I hit mute in the third period and the game was much better.

I’d be curious to know what a non-flames or oilers fan would think of a Sportsnet broadcast like tonight. As flames fans we all likely have some bias in what we hear, but if I take off my homer glasses I still think the overwhelming narrative tonight was oilers, oilers, Mcdavid, please get a hat-trick bouchard, oilers, oilers. Like when when you watch a bruins game and Edwards is insufferable… you don’t have to be a fan of the bruins or their opponents to recognize it.

In the second intermission Hrudey actually said he hoped the oilers great effort wouldn’t be soiled by the late flames goal. Are you F’in kidding me hrudey? Garbage journalism.

If there is one thing you can always count on, it's the Flames letting you down lol

Bunch of friggin useless bums.

It's only one game, but it was the pathetic no good reeling oilers, and a 2-0 lead.

####ing garbage franchise

Really garbagey stuff and pro Oilers.

I don't know how you could weed out any kind of positive Flames narrative in what they said at all. Or much at all to do with the Flames for that matter.

You wouldn't know who scored for the Flames if you watched just the third period. They didn't talk about their tallies one bit, or who was contributing on the Flames side. I think just one obligatory Gaudreau mention.

But Bouch Bomb Bouchard was a big talking point. They were really trying to will that hat trick for him.

I don't know why Hrudey betrays us in these BoA broadcasts like that. Its really sad coming from a usually solid guy like him.

Oilers do good they milk them. Oilers stink they all feel sorry for them and root them on regardless.

No love for the Calgary viewers I guess.

Not garbage but incredibly disappointing.

Teams that continually find ways to crap the bed against their most hated rivals are in a league of their own, that's for sure.
