You guys might enjoy the English-language group I belong to. It’s on Facebook so the haters won’t get there.

So...you just hate the British then do you?

I mean...not that thats an indictment or anything. Theres craploads of people who loathe the British. They didnt exactly traipse about the Globe 'making friends' for a few centuries.

Don't even get me started on what they've done to 'Through.'

Anyway my gear grinder today is Subway. I'm pretty cheap when it comes to my ####ty, "just buying it because I need food" meals. Subway used to be great for this - footlong ham for about 8.50, footlong breakfast sandwich for under 8 bucks, and the app would often have something like 20% off to make it even better. Now, all of the app deals involve the "Subway Series" subs they introduced a year or two ago - doesn't apply unless you want one of those. And holy crap are those things ever a rip off. Worse still, they've now raised the price on my precious breakfast subs to $10. Basically the restaurant is pointless now - it might as well not exist. There's no circumstance where it's worthwhile.

You're 100% right, subway was good because it was inexpensive, consistent and relatively healthy. I guess I wasn't paying attention because I accidentally bought a sub combo for $20. No chance it was worth that much. #### Subway. $20 lunches are reserved for real food.

Who the heck makes a new vehicle with a 40 litre gas tank...

I have a Hyundai Kona as a rental currently and was heading to work with approx 1/4 of a tank left.

Drive is about 50kms one way.

Plenty of gas I thought...I'll fill up on the way back to the hotel...

Nope...gas light comes on about halfway there.

Find a gas Station and fill it up...with 38.7 litres...

No wonder it went through it so quickly...
Will be happy when I return this thing tomorrow for sure.

Yup. Went to a Subway last year, first visit in a while. Had one of those customary tipping screens, I’d always tip a dollar or two before when paying, but now the minimum was 15%.

Chose that because I couldn’t find a custom option, total for my basic sub combo plus tip was over $20.

Boycott initiated. Haven’t been back since, and I don’t plan on returning ever again.

Here's one that might not be so common, could be an American thing.

When you're "itchy" you tend to "scratch" that itch, correct? I've heard people say they couldn't reach to "itch" their back or I used my left hand to "itch" my leg. Dummies are flat out using the wrong word.

Something likely wrong with that vehicle as that vehicle should get 500km city driving on one tank which is more than enough.

Also eff the CRA.

Called in today to find out why I can't get into my CRA account and after an hour to get through they proceed to tell me because I haven't signed in for a "long time", they deactivated my account.

Like who just signs into their CRA account for fun? It's not a social media app...I literally use it once a year during tax season. So now have to make a habit of signing in for the heck of it.

Maybe idled a lot so the distance to empty calculation was out of wack.

I've had work trucks back in the day where the low fuel light would come on at half a tank

GF does this and it drives me bananas. She is American, so you may be right about that point.
