Then buckle up and/or stop listening to Sutter's media availability.
I've watched this guy coach a long time and you're not going to see Mr. cheerful when the team is losing.
The good news for fans is that his teams usually win.

I think Darryl's done a good job, for the most part. The Gaudreau-Monahan-Ritchie line was a huge gaffe but it seems we've moved past that, albeit too late. Goaltending skewered his results early on too.
But I do feel he has welcomed some valid criticism with how he's handled high upside guys like Kylington, Phillips etc versus ineffective vets like Nesterov or Ritchie.
No one should be above criticism.

What a disappointing end to this core group of players.
I remember how excited I was when Gaudreau was coming up in the NCAA. Following his numbers in Dubuque, then watching him tear it up at Boston College. Everyone was nervous he wouldn't sign with the Flames. All the while watching Monahan come up to the Flames and just immediately started scoring at an incredible pace. Giordano's progression to becoming a Norris calibre defenseman. Brodie providing that speed from the back end up the ice. It's too bad they just couldn't fulfill their promise, or maybe the expectations were just unrealistic and they just aren't as good as we all expected them to be. Either way there is really not a lot to be excited about as a Flames fan.
Even seeing the line of Tkachuk, Lindholm and Gaudreau put up good numbers when the games are meaningless is so typical of this group. Time and time again offering slivers of hope and me, every time, buying into that hope only to, time and time again, be disappointed when the games matter. Even now I am thinking, maybe a full season of that line together and it's a different outcome! Talk about being in a toxic relationship!

The players don't change in ranking, just the teams, so we will always pick a goalie at 11 according to this.

Are you sure?
Seattle is supposed to have the 3rd best odds from what I can tell, not the same odds as the 3rd last team.

No, it's supposed to be the same odds as the 3rd last team.
It's supposed to be the same format as the 2017 lottery when Vegas and Arizona both had a 10.3% chance of winning: https://www.nhl.com/panthers/news/20...ry/c-289104736

We would still get second, they would just run the first pick again.

Really? Is that how it's supposed to work with Arizona? Weird.

I'm pretty sure the grumpy pants reference was about himself.

Phillips looks like the Flames couldn’t find a jersey small enough.

Treliving says they will analyze the season in the next couple of days.
The team is inconsistent, can't win more than 3 games in a row. Many players underperformed.
It doesn't exactly sound like he's being fired this week. He takes full responsibility for the team's failures.
Praises Mangiapane, Markstrom (once healthy). Valimaki has had hiccups.

Excited to see Phillips and hope he scores a goal and Gaudreau gives him the gears for being the little guy.
