I still think Rourke is going to catch on with another NFL team and collect some pretty good money holding a clipboard. As for the Stamps, I think there's a legitimate competition for the starting QB job in training camp between Maier and Shiltz.

Considering what he allegedly did it is probably a bit light. I hope the Argos get significant punishment as well for their role in this.

In all honesty, I was preparing myself for something like a 4 game suspension which would have been a joke. The league did say it was a minimum 9 game suspension which I guess leaves the door open for them to add more games. I agree that the Argos also need to face significant punishment for their attempts to downplay this (fines, loss of draft picks, etc.).

I hadn't been following this story until seeing the headlines today, but reading this kid's history previous to signing with the Argos (i.e. college), he sounds like a real model citizen... not sure how the Argos would be unaware of his character. Oh wait, in competitive sports you can be a scumbag but if you are good at your job somebody will sign you (Corey Perry-cough cough, Manziel), then if something occurs management will claim innocence.

Giants have claimed Nathan Rourke off waivers...

Canadian quarterback Nathan Rourke has been claimed off waivers from the New York Giants, per sources.

The 25-year-old was waived by the New England Patriots on Monday, which came after the team selected two quarterbacks in the recent NFL draft: Drake Maye at third overall and Joe Milton in the sixth round. New England also signed veteran Jacoby Brissett in free agency, giving him $5 million in guarantees on a one-year contract.

The Giants didn’t select a quarterback in the recent NFL draft and have only three other quarterbacks currently under contract: incumbent starter Daniel Jones, veteran journeyman Drew Lock, and second-year passer Tommy DeVito.

After some pretty scathing backlash, Chad Kelly is no longer attending Argos training camp. I mean, he shouldn't have been allowed to attend in the first place once the league handed down the suspension. Not a good look for Pinball and the rest of Argos management.
