This has been an excellent game. Quite evenly played.

This is some big boy hockey going on....really surprised the Leafs are able to go step for step with CBJ in doing so.

Columbus looks pretty good. If they had even one top-end scoring threat they'd be pretty scary.

Columbus are relentless. They just grind away, check everything, and push it up ice when they get a chance.

Haven't heard Marner or Tavares much today.

The Blue Jackets are a really easy team to cheer for. They have looked great in this game.

I'd love Tortorella press conferences for the coming months.

That was the first game that truly felt like the playoffs. Well, probably the Habs Pens was the forst but I missed most of it. It takes a playoff vibe to make a 1-0 game that entertaining.

I don't think Cam Atkinson gets enough credit for being that guy. He's really good.

He is, and so is Dubois. But I more mean a top-10, Art Ross threat type scorer.

Leafs seem too soft. Don’t think they will make it out of the Qualifier.

The past 2 days have been a stark reminder that you don't build a championship team by focusing on run-&-gun hockey and piling up skilled forwards.

Yeah.
You need some body crunchers or at least your big time players being willing to get on board with physicality. You need a pest, or two. You need guys whose sole jobs are to wear down their matchup physically. You need shot blockers. You need 200 foot forwards and defenders.
If all your forward lines are trying to dipsy doodle while minimizing physical engagement at this time of year then any experienced playoff team is going to come out and manhandle you.
Flames learned that the hard way twice at the hands of Anaheim. Tried to play pure skill against a squad of big bad bullies and jerks that could also wield skill themselves. Fact of the matter is even your skill guys have to find a mean streak and be willing to get bruised and battle scarred to make plays happen.
