If your rad is side mounted, make sure the hoses connect to the bottom otherwise there could be a air bubble blocking your pump. The bubble will get larger over time as some of the fluid will escape through evaporation and when the bubble reaches the pump you will get thermal throttling.

AIO are foolproof liquid cooling with only 1 extra POF for an amazing amount of cooling. I wouldn't go full on liquid as I couldn't be bothered but i've never had an issue with mine in the years I have used it and before that I've replaced enough loud or dying CPU fans.

• Opened the case and felt the AIO hoses and one was hot and the other was cold (which I assume is correct)

So based on that, I'm guessing the AIO pump or something related has failed? I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure I should be at around 45-50 degrees at moderate load with an AIO and not at 90-100 degrees. Safe to say it's time to RMA or buy a new one?

Did you open up the bios and or hardware moniter and look at the pump speed?

Yeah it sounds like a pump, I mean foolproof as in not leaking water everywhere, needing cleaning, etc. If your fan died you would be in the same situation, sure its cheaper and easier to replace a fan but it also runs louder and hotter. Air cooling works fine for most but if you have an unlocked processor and want to squeeze a little more power AIO is the easy way.

Well that's the thing, what gains can really be had these days by overclocking? I remember doing that years ago when it meant a pretty big bump to framerate in games, but these days with a modern processor you'll be GPU bound almost 100% of the time. And if a standard CPU fan died you'd notice right away and it's an easy fix, you're not left guessing like Meel

Sorry for the drive by/drop in.

I'm looking at a new laptop. It's been quite a while since I had one, as I've been relying on my desktop for many moons. What I'm considering is a mid range gaming laptop, as it would cover all of my needs, and also allow me to fire up some new games, as I've also gotten away from that for a number of years, and would like to play a little.

The only downside of a gaming laptop is a poor keyboard, but these days even workstation laptops have weak chicklets, so that's not a backbreaker.

I've looked at the Asus Tuf15, Leveno Legion Pro 5, the Gigabyte G6 and glanced at the Auorus 16.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these? Sale prices on them vary, but the first three run from 1400 on the low end to 2000 on the high end, and the Auorus about 2500. Biggest difference in price is due to CPU and RTX-4050 through 4070.

I guess my biggest question is, does any one of these stand out as being a solid build? Has anyone enjoyed one?

Get the best cpu and gpu you can afford. If you can't afford the best then get the next best.


I'd get which ever has the 4070 personally. But I'm purely a gamer on pc. My phone can handle any thing else for browsing . I'd never get a 4070 laptop tho . Need a 4090 for games as it would mimick a 4070 desktop gpu.
