Yeah I think that's a fair point, taking a broader view it's a trend I've noticed in other Netflix original this year as well. They're a very data driven organization, so I'm sure they're trying to keep a lot of different demographics hooked, and as a result the shows end up pretty stuffed.

The Miley Cyrus episode of Black Mirror was probably the single worst offender in this regard, they tried to cram so many different themes into one story that none of it really got the attention it deserved.

Just realized Dunkirk was added to Netflix. Worth a second viewing for sure.

Just finished Mindhunter season 2. I guess the subject matter doesn't appeal to a wide range of people, but it's definitely the best Netflix show produced IMO. It has true character development and smart writing. There's very very little to pick on plot-hole wise, and is just a seriously well made show. I binged on it and really wish season 3 was already in the works because 9 episodes blew by after waiting a couple years.

that's the great thing about streaming services is that you can have a phenomenal show like Mindhunter and not necessarily need it to appeal to a wide range of people.

kinda like Dark...the only reason something that good can get made is having a streaming service that isn't necessarily looking to appeal to everyone.

Spent yesterday doing a rewatch of the last few episodes of S1 - really looking forward to S2...hoping to see more of Edmund Kemper - such an amazing portrayal byCameron Britton

Just finished the third season of QB1 which is a solid series for any football fan. It usually follows 3 of the top ranked high school QB's this season.

This year it followed

Spenser Rattler who committed to Oklahoma.
Lance LeGendre who originally committed to Kansas but then decommitted and ended up at Maryland.
Nik Scalzo who ended up at Kentucky.

Spoiler!

This was one of the more interesting seasons

just started watching Diagnosis... pretty fascinating show - one of the executive producers was a doctor who consulted on House and has a column in the NYT magazine for the last 15 years.

fascinating but also heartbreaking to see how difficult these people's lives are...the first girl had been sued several times by doctors and she was stunned at the fact the doctors that finally diagnosed her did so for free... in Italy.

Really surprised that AMC didnít take this on by themselves and sell it to Netflix after the release. Netflix must have given them a pretty sweet offer.

its like musical chairs with the fracturing of the cable universe into smaller channels...

Netflix would be wise to lock up AMC as a long term partner with all the movie studios looking to create their own streaming channels.

Chappelle's new special was great. One of the last true comedians.

Agreed, I thought it was absolutely hilarious.

Fairly political, talks about school shooters, guns, MeToo, the Michael Jackson accusers, LGBTQ community, etc. But he basically just trashed everything and everyone. It was really really funny, but probably not ideal for those who canít appreciate comedy on sensitive subjects.

EDIT: PepsiFree has a better summary. Talks about political topics but isn't preachy and roasts everything which makes it not political in my book. Great joke on Nancy Reagan lol.

Chappelle's analogy of the LGBTQ movement to a car trip was amazing. He's received a lot of criticism from those communities, but his jokes are always so well crafted around those topics.

That sounds good. I find some routines now get far too preachy. Based on his previous work I didn't expect that from him but was just curious.
