Anyone have any recommendations for an X570 motherboard to pair with an AMD 3900X?
I'm leaning towards the GIGABYTE X570 AORUS PRO WIFI but are there any features of the midrange mobos I should consider?
The Aorus Elite X570 WiFi is only $279 right now and they're so damn close in spec. If WiFi 6 and BT 5 are big buying motivators, then the Pro is the one. If you're doing some major overclocking, the additional 4-pin motherboard power connector on the Pro also gives extra stability and headroom, but AMD haven't shown to be all that great for overclocking, in my opinion.
I hadn't really planned on building a new PC next year, but those RTX 3080 prices and performance gains are really making me rethink things
Can you get them locally or online? I know they say Sept 17, but MemEx and Newegg etc don't have anything on their sites saying they will have them...?

I won't be using WiFi but I use Bluetooth for a controller and it would be cool to use wireless headphones while playing a game.
The extra power was a big selling point after reading about it on Anandtech.
Yeah I am really wanting a 3080 but I'm not sure how much of a bottleneck my Ryzen 2700X will become. I may just wait until next year and then upgrade the entire PC. Still got a 1080TI in it but I'll admit Cyberpunk scares me a little bit. If I can't hit 60 fps @ 1440p with high to max settings I'm going to cry lol

I just bought and installed a MSI Tomahawk WiFi X570 board that has had excellent reviews.
Seems they over-engineered this one for the price point to make up for an underwhelming previous model. Installation was smooth and no issues so far.
I'm hearing that by the time you wait for sites to get samples for benchmarks and reviews, stock is likely going to be sold out already/pushed out into the new year?

nvidia isn't doing preorders so the cards will be live the 17th.
What's the market for my GTX 1080 then? $350? $400?
Not even that, probably... Maybe 300.
2080s will probably be around 550? Even that might be high. I mean it's a used card that's worse than the 3070 at $715.

Thought I’ll ask you fine folks. I’ve started thinking about getting a gaming rig, and was wondering how much will a decent/good one put me back? I know depends on the type of games I play, but let’s say something that can handle cities skylines and asset requirements in addition to whatever the latest flavor game is.
I have a PS4, which I’ll probably keep playing most games on, but I needed a computer for work reasons, and was thinking that I might as well consider getting something to fulfill my gaming needs.

Cities Skylines isn't the best-optimized game in the world so you'll need something at least mid-range or higher. I think $1200-$1500 is a good budget range that you can tweak to fit your needs.
Do you have a monitor or a current PC you can salvage parts from? That's a good way to save a few bucks.
PC Part Picker has some good build suggestions you can look at:

Decent/good are subjective. I think you can get something "decent" between $1500-$2000. To get something "good", $2000+ will do the trick.
Your timing is good because with the announcement of Nvidia's 3000 series GPUs, the price of the 2000 series should tank.
If I were you, I'd start at the PC Part Picker "Enthusiast" level build. Note, the price of the RTX 2080 video card should come down in price.
