If there is going to be a permanent change, it makes more sense to bring AHL limits in line with the NHL, and cap at 25. So, one extra spot.

Otherwise I would think a temporary rise of 26, with a return to 24.

Given lack of consensus I think we should allow a temporary increase in the limit to 26, and then set a deadline, after the draft, when it returns to the current limit.
That seems like a reasonable compromise.

Does the software allow you to change that number to prevent watchdog emails?

No. Not without Cam having to make a change. And I don't like asking him for that type of stuff, particularly when we then have to change it back.
You'll all be getting warnings anyways if you exceed the ECHL limit. So it's up to the GM to look at the email and see if you are in compliance or not. I think that's a reasonable ask to make of our GMs.
