I don't even think that was the case.
Usually a team tries to construct three good forward lines that have chemistry together, and then cobble together a fourth line from whatever bits and pieces are left. The Flames had chemistry on two lines – Zary-Kadri-Pospisil, Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman – and built their
first line out of bits and pieces.
Lindholm just never gelled with Huberdeau, and I think after a certain length of time he just got in his own head. He'll have a chance to reset in Vancouver. He wasn't getting that chance here, because neither Huberdeau nor Lindholm is a fourth-line forward.
