Yes, this could have gone in the movie trailers thread in the Off Topic section... but I think it's worthy of a thread here for more awareness!

Sure looks real

It's only the trailer but the acting looks pretty good

That would be a ton of work for a gag. Fingers crossed.

Both could have been Flames legends with just a few things going different.

Selanne is awesome. Like when he posted that video of his decision to play another season with the ducks and then he jumped in a pond at a golf course (I think).

Looks like the movie is legit. I see an academy award in Teemu’s future.

Man, having them on the same team with Gilmour, Neuwendyk, Makarov, Fleury, Mullen, Roberts, Hunter (both), Tonelli, Otto, and Peplinski. Add one more plugger and you've got a complete 4 line all-star team! Would've been a dynasty to compliment the toilet seat!

Honestly... the acting from him doesn't look bad... That "keep that mother####er Hully out of this ####ing league," line was pretty believable.

I just wish they'd cast Danny DeVito as Gary Bettman.

It's real. Many of the outdoor clips were shot at our home rink here in San Diego.

It's not sold for distribution yet, TIFF is in September, I would guess if it is any good you see it on Netflix or Crave around October / November. Either would probably pick it up for immediate distribution in Canada in a heartbeat if it's watchable, because the two hockey players alone will get enough views to justify it.

Wait...TIFF hasn't announced their line up yet. How do you know it will be there? Doesn't really seem like something TIFF would be interested in.

just a guess, indy movie about hockey, where would you try to sell it?

I thought they had pretty good range in terms of movies.

it doesn't look like it is, filmed in Cali by what looks to be a California producer/writer/director/lead actor with nearly no other credits to his name.

I'm sure it it will be put up for sale this summer somewhere, and if it is watchable a Canadian streamer will buy it.

Has a cult classic feel to it. It's now my most anticipated film of 2024.
