if China can disappear multibillionaire Jack Ma for re-education, it's going to take more than a limp statement from the WTA and twitter hastags to help Peng Shuai now. this needs to remain front and centre in the tennis (or general) news cycle until she's been confirmed safe now and going forward.
I watched a youtube video yesterday put out by Gill Gross regarding the Peng Shuai situation and it basically highlights the perils of doing business with China. China has invested over 1 billion dollars with the WTA for rights, tournaments, stadiums etc. and as we all know China doesn't take kindly to criticism. The video is below if interested...

Flipping channels last night and stopped on Team tennis from Indian Wells. My reaction:
How is this still a thing? There were maybe 15 people in the stands. The only noise was music blasting between points.
No ballboys/girls. There were people walking around with racquets who would hand balls to the server. Maybe a coach?
Kim Clijsters was playing, I guess in the midst of another comeback. She was unrecognizable, which is about as polite as I can put it. I remember a previous comeback when she won a US Open and she was a fitness master, athletic and strong. No idea what she is doing now.
I did not see the Medvedev - Zverev match this morning from Torino, but if the set scores are any indication (6-3 6-7 7-6 Medvedev wins), it appeared to be a fantastic match.
Tomorrow for the first time Djokovic plays Rublev.....I've been so excited to see this match up for soooo long but something would always get in the way. I think Rublev can do some damage to Djoker and it will be a fantastic match. (Now that I hyped it up Djokovic will win 6-2,6-3 )

Rublev is the Russian Shapo, when he's on, he's terrific, but if things start going off the rails, he has difficulty recovering. I think your 6-2 6-3 call for Novak might be spot on

Congrats to Garbine Muguruza on winning the WTA Finals (she defeated Anett Kontaveit in the final match last night, Kontaveit had a heck of a season especially late in the year).
