I'm going to need the phonetic spelling on that, how is it pronounced? I thought it was along the lines of Eh-yat-fie-yogul. Is this kinda close?

I've wondered sometimes if kids in places like Iceland and Indonesia play "the floor is lava", or if it if the issue is too close to home to be fun for the whole family.

The neat thing about this eruption in Iceland is its in an area that has been quiet for well over 700 years, so this was a very unexpected area to become active again.

We keep waiting on Eyjafjallajökull's big sister, Katla, which is overdue for an eruption, its caldera is about 10kms wide and under a glacier, which would make it 10-20x larger of an eruption than Eyjafjallajökull, its been rumbling but nothing to indicate its going to erupt anytime soon, however in the past when Eyjafjallajökull erupts, Katla is never far behind in erupting.

If she goes, it will be a large event.
