The Calgary Flames are back home in the Scotiabank Saddledome this evening taking on the Ottawa Senators Columbus Blue Jackets.

Projected starters, not confirmed at the time of posting, are David Rittich for the Flames and Sergei Bobrovsky for the Jackets. https://leftwinglock.com/starting-goalies

The Flames have officially clinched a playoff spot but are battling San Jose for positioning.

The Blue Jackets trying to hold down the final wildcard position in the Eastern Conference. They lost their last game in overtime, and are 5-4-1 over their last 10.

Overall records:
Calgary Flames 44-21-7-95
Columbus Blue Jackets 40-28-4-84

The game will be broadcast on SportsNet West, so have your streaming services ready.

EDIT: I've been informed that the game is also on TVA for those of us that parle en français. It wasn't listed on the NHL app so I missed it. Thanks to Tsawwassen for letting me know

Go Flames Go

I love that you do these early so they can be seen before work for those of us who suffer from "wrongtimezoneitis"

Good job Q-Scout!

Go Flames! Take advantage of a slumping Sharts team.

I’d be happy if Columbus missed the playoffs after deciding to “go for it” at the trade deadline. I don’t know why, I have nothing against them. Apparently I’m just an #######.

The Knights are getting hot at the right time so the Flames would be wise to take care of business to ensure they avoid them in the first round. They really need to take advantage of this Sharks losing streak.

Agreed. Watched the game last night between Vegas and San Jose. I want nothing to do with Vegas in round 1. That is a scary team.

Flames need to take advantage of a slumping Sharks team and make some distance. Hoping for a big win and an angry Torts.

So SHarks have lost 3 ina row?

Win this and you've gained 4 points on them during this time. If you don't win, would feel like quite a missed opportunity.

And Vegas is peaking too soon IMO.

I agree with the sentiment that we have to take advantage of this Sharks slide. With Columbus and Ottawa back to back you have to get these 4 points.

Jackets will be hungry that’s for sure. A great test for the Flames as this will resemble playoff hockey I’ll warrant.

This is me exactly, all the way down to the self doubt and guilt. Why am I hoping against this team for being aggressive? I think it comes down to the drama of the epic fail

We all want CBJ to lose for the sheer joy of watching Torts after the game.

If CBJ misses the playoffs and loses their big UFAs for nothing, is Jarmo Kekalainen done in Columbus?

Flames skate at 10:30 today. Should probably get a decent indication about lines.

This is where I am conflicted. I would love to see Tortorella out on his ass, but then again I like Kekalainen and think that he has done well with the limitations he has had to work through in that market. I also think it would be great for Columbus to win a round.

I would have to think so. Which would be a shame as I actually think he has done a good job.

Ironically, if he hadn't traded for Duchene (perenial LOSER) they would have probably had a better shot at making the playoffs.
