Its an opinion...like I said, if the game was actually good and not just made to drain kids bank accounts it would have gotten serious GOTY buzz. Candy Crush of FPS

My thoughts

You don’t have to like it, but it’s a very well made game.

It’s not in the GOTY discussion because it came out last year.

Yeah I really wanted to like PUBG as well but the battle royale style just wasn't for me. I liked the idea and the way inventory worked and whatnot but even though I'd almost always finish top 10 I'd spend most games running through forests and fields with nobody to shoot. Kinda boring.

Fortnite is way to twitchy and goofy for my tastes as well

It was up for other awards...free to play whatever nonsense of the year or something...anyway its my opinion, gonna stand by it. I bet it fizzles out and is forgotten rather than something that stands the test of time.

Anyone who enjoys it well good, have fun

My kids play it for their every waking minute if I let them, while I don't disagree with you guys, it looks like a Nintedo 64 game to me, it aint going anywhere soon.

Where do you get demos? I can never find them by searching on the PlayStation store.

If you go to the RE2 preorder game page in the ps store there’s a link to the demo. I don’t think they’re particularly common anymore so I don’t think there’s a demos section in the store.

30 mins on that RE2 demo is just mean. I want to play so bad. Think I’m gonna have to play the RE1 remaster now to quench my thirst for zombie killing.

Just a heads up that Steep is the free PSN game of the month. I'm excited to try it out as I loved SSX on PSone but haven't played a snowboard game since.

So, AGDQ was last week - anyone watch any of it? Anything good to watch? So far the best thing I've seen was the Sonic Mania Plus race, lots of lead changes and really tight finish.

That's only for PS plus members right?

I guess you get your value back on that plus some? I skipped out but now I'm thinking I might give it a try.

I get my value on PS Plus in the 250 hours of Rocket League online every year.

I'm playing the Witcher 3 right now myself as my first game on the PS4 (only just got the system a couple weeks ago). It took me a long time to figure out how the game worked and all the systems, but I'm totally into a groove now and am really enjoying the ride. The fact that I'm still learning new things in the game at least 15 hours into gameplay says something.

I find that the game library I've built over the years has definitely provided great value. Out of the 2018 free games I would say I got my money's worth in games, so the multi-player is a bonus.

2018 PS Plus Free Games (Bolded the ones I played)
Jan: Deus Ex: MAnkind Divided, Telltale's Batman: Season One
Feb: Knack, RiME
Mar: Bloodborne, Ratchet & Clank
Apr: Mad Max, Trackmania Turbo
May: Beyond: Two Souls, Rayman Legends
Jun: XCOM 2, Trials Fusion, Call of Duty: Black Ops III
Jul: Absolver, Heavy Rain
Aug: Mafia III, Dead by Daylight, Knowledge is Power, Here They Lie
Sep: Destiny 2, God of War III Remastered
Oct: Friday the 13th, Laser League
Nov: Yakuza Kiwami, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition
Dec: Onrush, SOMA

And some of those I had already played and just tagged in case I wanted to play them again.

Another bonus is the sales. With a plus membership you save on top of the store's sale prices. I bought Last of Us remastered for $8 and the three (good) batman arkham games for around $35.

Came across this article today. Haven't checked them out yet.

I usually like the TasBOT stuff, but this year's stuff didn't seem as crazy.

There was a great twitter thread from a guy who sat down and played with his kids to try and figure it out (I can't find it, so I'll summarize). He was surprised to find few of the kids were playing with any seriousness, but rather just hanging out in it and talking. For many it's become a social hub more so than a just a game.

Not to derail this into "kids these days" territory or anything, but that seems to be a huge part of the appeal. I was talking with a friend who has teenagers and he said it's fascinating. His kids have 5x the social circle he ever did, although they rarely actually meet up all that much. Kids move to different cities and countries, and it doesn't actually change a whole lot.
