One game at a time. They were fine in the first and they looked much better in the second half of the game. Build on that. They were able to keep McDavid at bay. Coming back home means that we get the advantage of last change.

Some positives:
-Marky got his game back after the shaky start and looked like himself--should put him in a good head space.
-Smith showed his chaos and also started being snarky with his teammates as usual. Will shake his confidence and the team's in him.
-Gutsy comeback--just didn't finish it; but still showed something getting there.
-McD mostly neutralized--way better defensive awareness. Tanev may have been playing at 40%, but he still brings a calm, intelligent presence to the blue line and pairings match up better.
Up to the Sea of Red to put a cork in this "Edmonton has the best crowd" narrative. Feeling weirdly psyched for how the Coilers are going to collapse and how much fun it will be. Taking numbers from the taunters tomorrow and enjoying sweet payback after game seven is going to be fun.

Win game 5 at home then pressure is all on Oilers. Win game 6 and come home for all or nothing. Still believe this team can get it done. One game at a time.
I believe we can do to the Oilers the same thing the Canucks did to us in 1994. Down 3-1 they came back and won the next 3, all three games went to overtime. I believe the Flame can do the same. Go Flames!

Refs jobbed us Game 2 of the tying goal.
Flames played well enough to win last night too.
It gets to 7 we win.
When Oilers fail it is spectacular. This is warming up to be that, becuase besides that disallowed goal in Game 2, 8 terrible minutes in Game 3, it's been not much to choose from between teams for a very average looking Flames team...
My guess is we don't look average tomorrow night, team and players get some momentum for Game 6, and pressure will be all on Oilers for Game 6 at home. Smith has another shocker incoming in one or more of the next 3 games too.
Some reasons for optimism:
-Tanev is back playing and is playing well
-Markstrom played better in periods 2 and 3
-Not as many penalties are being called
-The Oilers have bad goaltending and are known to crack
-Game 5 is on home ice
-Sutter is an experience coached who has been in this situation before
-Wolf has back to back shutouts and the Heat look great

Going in that same time machine, the 1989 Oilers were up 3-1 against the Kings. The Kings came back to win the series 4-3. The Oilers can blow it again.
