Not shocking. He's a clear standout. Hopefully we're good at generating a steady replacement pipeline for all the quality going out the door.
Agreed, and where we can, we need to be collecting on transfer fees. That's how we keep the talent coming and building the franchise, including being an attractive place for young players to showcase and upgrade their skills. Everybody wins when the Cavs can sell quality players.
Crazy to think that our 4th string striker who was signed as an injury replacement to Novak would go on to become the leading scorer in the league after a handful of games and then generate a transfer fee within a few months. That is some great recruitment.
I don't know much about the U20 squad playing in AMSL this year but hopefully there are more good prospects ready to make the jump.
The U20 Cavalry, which they also call Foothills U23s, did beat the Cavalry last week as per my post previously, in a closed door friendly. Just a friendly obviously, and I heard the U23s were up for it and the Cavs weren't really, but still. Pretty impressive.
There is a lot of depth in the system...there's a few 15/16/17 year olds the club is quite high on as well. Already playing against men and dominating. I feel like this club (Foothills) is going to be a breeding ground for players for years to come. They're doing things right.

Are Foothills U23 and Cavalry U20 the same squads this year?
Pre pandemic Foothills U23 played in USL League 2 and Cavalry U20 played in AMSL, but I know that Foothills U23 left USL League 2 and are trying to get this League 1 Central off the ground without much luck...
They're basically the same thing, yes. They call it Foothills U23 b/c there are a few players over 20...even ones that play on the Cavs U20 team in AMSL.
The Foothills U23s are just doing an exhibition series (or attempting to), as they'd like to start up a new league I guess. Unfortunately other clubs don't have the stability/organization, and in my opinion player depth to support. Scottish basically no-showed to one of their previous games. They don't have a true U23 squad like Foothills does.
Other clubs in the province need to do some catching up. Foothills is way ahead in terms of its organization, and talent pool. There are many age groups in which Foothills has two Tier A teams that are often in the top 4 Alberta-wide. So basically they have enough talent to field two teams that are some of the best in the province, in multiple age groups.
Wow. I didn't see the latest tweet and thought we were still talking about Forest Green. Cavalry to Luton would be massive for him. I think I saw somewhere that the Championship was the 4th most watched European league, so that's a very high-profile move for him and Cavalry, if it turns out to be true.

Love love love that there now appears to be eyes from several leagues on the CPL and on Cavalry. This is only good news for our product and our club going forward. The quality is increasing.
Any word on how much revenue the Cavs are making from these deals?
No clue, but Pepple's deal was up in November so I can't imagine we're going to get a lot for him. I think Loturi has a longer term contract than that when Ross County got him.
