Calgary Hitmen dude... look at the schedule last season , 17 homes games on a Sunday, most starting at 2-4pm with a scattered earlier start time.

I'm not even a huge proponent of junior hockey, but it's better hockey than the AHL.

How is it better hockey? Do you mean more entertaining?

Yes, exactly. The talent level, maturity etc is in favour of the AHL, no one will argue that but the CHL is just better entertaining hockey. It's a more team oriented game as well as I've found minor hockey to be very individualized.

What @bizaro86 is looking for has been in Calgary for a long time now.

Game 5 between Stockton and Chicago was as entertaining a hockey game as I've ever watched.

More mistakes leads to more scoring chances which produces more excitement and entertainment.

Maybe for you, I don't think sloppy hockey is "good" hockey.

But the CHL is sloppier hockey than the AHL. The players are younger and less experienced, there’s a bigger talent gap and the coaching isn’t as good.

Unless you’re refuting timbit’s claim that more mistakes means more entertainment. Otherwise if you agree with his statement and prefer more entertaining hockey, then preferring the CHL makes sense.

My point was never that the CHL is better because it's more "entertaining" so I don't have to agree or disagree to that point. That's something tidbit added to my post that I didn't care about. The reason I think CHL is better hockey was typed out quite clearly in my first reply NOISIA.

Do I refute it? No Do I need to? No as well.

I think the characterizations of "team oriented" v. "individualised" are too vague to be meaningful. It leads me to believe that at the heart of it, it is the Juniour Hockey chaos that you actually do enjoy, and are in denial about.

Fairly childish and bizarrely condescending for a Sunday afternoon eh?

He shared an anecdote about going to Starbucks near Stockton Arena before a game in his suit and getting lectured by team staff for doing so because of how potentially dangerous the nearby area was.

That place was wild. As far as, am I surprised they moved the team? No. People couldn’t wear red jerseys into the rink because of the Bloods and the Crips and the gang activity. I was cleaning out my Google Drive the other day and I found a map of gang activity of Stockton that they gave me when I got to the team. Isn’t that nuts?

I think we need to refocus this thread on the most important detail of this news...

Do we know if Scorch is back yet?

They're going to try to avoid double-headers, I imagine, due to the age of the ice plant in the building.

The majority of the Hitmen's games are Sunday afternoons. They only have a total of 10 home games on Friday or Saturday nights.

I wouldn't believe what is written in the schedule per se.

They had a list someplace, still plenty of time to change that once they make up their mind.
