Really?

It’s been over 10 years and feels like it’s been even longer IMO.

Excited for him though and nice to see somebody new get a shot instead of the usual re-hire.

Awesome, always liked Grier. First black GM in the NHL.

Trust the gut and have a rock solid contract lawyer at your side and one of the best bean counters on the other. Congrats to Grier. Always like him as a player. Earned every inch of ice he got.

his brother is the GM of the Miami Dolphins. Brothers being GMs in different major leagues, that's pretty awesome.

Brothers as GM's in a professional sport is one thing but to be GM's in different professional leagues is impressive.

Hopefully he gets a fair chance. Sharks need some time to be able to reset things as others have noted. No one can fix this in a year.

Didn’t know that and it puts a whole new spin on his experience. Though the two leagues are run a lot differently.

You young whipper snappers don't understand the passage of time as you age. Soon, grasshopper. Soon.

If Jankowski ever becomes GM of the Flames that will be an all-timer moment

Good on him but, oooof, not an easy first GM gig. $34.5M tied up in 4 players over 30 and the shortest contract from that group is Burns and he's got three more years. It's yucky.

Per above. Too bad he starts out with such a turd sandwich. Sharks must have one of the worst salary cap rosters. Even with Kane gone.

Guess you have to start somewhere though

Starting out with that cap mess can be his penance for all those years he spent as a no-good Oiler.
