Deer Sega. Please stop trying to make Sonic a thing. It's over. Time to move on.

I also don't understand the context of "Gangsters Paradise" here.

Yep — with a non-awful Sonic design it actually wouldn’t look like a half-bad kids movie. But that Sonic design is so egregiously terrible and creepy — what were they thinking?

That looks so bad. I wish it didn't but it does.

I don't even know who the movie is targeting. Most of us who grew up with Sonic have watched Sega murder the poor little guy over 2 decades. We are done with him. Do kids know who Sonic is? Who's going to pay to see this? $90 million budget? Good luck with that.

I'm thinking something like test screenings went horrible, expectations went from bad to the worst and the strategy became 'get those 30/40-somethings to bring their kids and maybe we'll beat John Carter. Quick, what was the number one song among kids aged 8-16 in 1995? Play that one!'

That's the sound of the budget getting blown.

You would have thought they would have mocked up a few designs and done some actual market research before blowing $90 million, but what do I know

Thoughts and prayers to the animation team then, who probably aren’t seeing their families for the next 5 months now.

It’ll be a wash after all this added publicity.

Did they really need randos on the internet to tell them that this looks terrible?

I hope the launch whoever that is doing a fantastic impression of Jim Carrey at his worst into the Sun.

I don't think this has ever happened before, but don't watch the latest Spiderman Far From Home trailer if you haven't watched Endgame but are planning to.

Spoiler!

Couldn’t even finish that Sonic thing, whatever that was. Wow. How did that make it to production?

Have to believe there are far, far, far better scripts and movie possibilities out there than torching however many millions on that.

Yet Coolio was pissed when Weird Al did Amish Paradise. A little more desperate for his royalty cheques these days.
