That was tongue in cheek. Just wanted to bring his name into the conversation re: undrafted college signings who amounted to something.

John Madden, Brian Rafalski and Dan Boyle.

I think nowadays, it is a little harder for a college player with big potential to go unnoticed, but it still happens. I never understood why some people get uptight about signing undrafted college or European players if they are late bloomers. It seems like a no brainer to me to try every avenue to get possible free talent.

The first domino falls... Poturalski signs with the Hurricanes.

It seems likely that this was the guy Conroy was watching on Sunday.

Interesting that they didn't burn a year on his contract, and he'll be reporting to Charlotte on an ATO.

Kirk Luedeke @kluedeke29
Colgate Red Raider Mike Borkowski is generating NHL interest as NCAA FA. Ottawa native is smart, driven, underrated center- in demand.

Union junior Vecchione faces a tough decision

Quote:
Several NHL teams have been scouting Vecchione, and he has been mentioned in a couple of publications as being one of the top college hockey free agents. Last summer, Vecchione was in two NHL development camps — the Boston Bruins and the Minnesota Wild. He was in the Bruins’ camp in 2014.

“I’m still unsure,” Vecchione said. “Like I said before, I was going to weigh my options and talk to some teams that are interested and go from there.”

With Yale eliminated, Lyon can be in play if he forgoes his senior season.

Dartmouth 2, Yale 1 — Timothy Shoup and Kevan Kilistoff scored in the first period and Charlie Grant stopped 46 of 47 shots as the Big Green (18-15-1) finished off a two-game sweep of the seventh-ranked Bulldogs (19-8-4) to advance to the ECAC semifinals.

Not in play yet. Still have a good chance they get invited to the national tournament.

Just because a team gets eliminated from their respective conference playoffs doesn't mean their season is over.

The national tournament has 16 teams. The first 6 spots are given to the six conference tournament champions. The other 10 spots are usually given to the teams with the next highest pairwise rankings.

Yale is currently 10th in the pairwise rankings and still likely to get an invite to the national tournament that runs March 25th to April 9th. The only way they don't get an invite is if they drop in the pairwise rankings and a bunch of teams (i.e. almost all) below them in the pairwise rankings win their conferences.

Colgate Raiders Mike Borkowski has signed an ATO with the Senators AHL affiliate per the AHL transactions page.

No word yet if he signed a NHL contract that begins next season. He is an Ottawa native so it appears the Senators have the inside track with him.

I don't see anyone worth signing this year except Lyon, Oksanen, and Bayreuther.

Most of the rest of the guys are just org. filler guys like Brady Lamb from a few years ago.
