It drives me nuts that even after another horrendous season the hockey media - locally and nationally will get right back on that McDavid Oilers bandwagon next year.

There will be non stop talk about maturation, set backs, learning to lose before learning to win, references to other teams (Tampa Bay) that missed the playoffs and had huge bounce backs, unlucky special teams, adjusting to the pressure of high expectations...

And their fans (Oilers media) will eat it up and the Oilers arrogance will be in full swing by the time they walk up to the podium to draft Dahlin.

At this point it doesn't matter. They have a can't miss prospect in McDavid and only because he is good enough, he overcame their Oilers developmental hurdles. If they draft Dahlin he will be gifted a roster spot because Oilers. Like almost every other prospect he will learn to be entitled and won't develop properly and the fans will start to get on him and eventually be traded and win a cup on another team.

After trade Klefbolm for forward depth, they will trade Yamamato for Defense depth, which is why eventually they will trade Dahlin for a forward again.

Based on last off-season, you can be sure Chia will have a methodical plan in place to improve things for next year:

1. Pray that Talbot plays better.
2. Pray that Talbot plays better.
3. Pray that Talbot plays better.
4. Pray that Talbot plays better.
5. Pray that Talbot plays better.
6. Pray that Talbot plays better.
7. Pray that Talbot plays better.

What could go wrong?

If the Oilers do get Dahlin, hopefully he or his agent refuses to sign with the Oilers. That franchise is a career killer, why do that to yourself, not to mention having to live in Edmonton.

I wouldn't be shocked if Dahlin did that. If I see one of the best players in the NHL, struggling to get this team going, that's a huge red flag. Not even the best in the game right now can raise this team out of the dumps. I will not be surprised at all if he wants to be on a different team.

I just hope it doesn't go that far. When they do the draft lottery and show Dahlin's face, I hope he gets mad and storms off when the oilers win. I don't even want the oil to draft him because he's going to just tell them ahead of time not to waste the pick.

We say it every time when they are in the lottery. They all end up suiting up for the Oilers and get a nice picture with Katz and his kid.

These kids also know that if the Oilers pick em, chances are they are going to get PAID. You get a 6x6, you get a 6x6, everyone gets a 6x6!

Its hilarious seeing all the posts on HFOil about how the refs and the league are all against Mcdavid. Maybe they just started noticing in replays how often he dives...

Almost time for the champagne.

What is the Oilers' record against teams that did not play the night before?

The part of the game that had me shaking my head was the Dru Remenda backing of Draisaitl being frustrated on not getting passes from his defenseman.

"He should be frustrated! They've got to get the puck up to him"

Meanwhile the kid is trying to blow the zone and is showing up his teammates on the ice.

I think 0.02% is awfully optimistic.

Doesn't Boston have only 2 regulation losses in their last 25 games? So it is possible. Die hards will point to Calgary last year and Boston this year.

Realistically there is zero chance. This team has been healthy of late and shown no consistent mojo to even hint at a massive run. The only thing consistent has been them showing massive failure after any big win.

TLDR; they're toast.

Pssh, that's so yesterday. Chia doesn't do weak 6x6's. He goes bigger and does 8.5x8's. Cuz you know, bold moves only up in Greaserville.

The only way to sell a property for significantly more is to have the leases increased to change that number in the equation.
Except the City of Edmonton took 50% of the 30 floors in "Edmonton Tower". A blue chip tenant like that with zero risk of default will substantially increase the value that comes out of the valuation you speak of.

I wonder how much the City is paying for that square footage. I can't imagine it's at a discount. Where is the Rick Bell of Edmonton? Can we send Edmonton ours?

All this makes the score: Katz Net Worth 3, City of Edmonton 0. He's laughing all the way to his LA lair.

If they are icing a 5 player team perhaps. Any star who gets picked by Edmonton only shot at getting paid while hes an Oiler is when he signs an offer sheet.

Perhaps by then they'll have traded another First overall, opening up a new slot.

so did I see the highlights of last nights game.

they did a special event for 3.5 hours to raise this banner, bring out a thousand ex oilers and eat some cake.

then before last nights game they raised the banner again and rolled out ex oilers?

Just stop, its getting sad.
