Sad day for the Oil that those cons far outweigh the pros.

What is the rationale there? Sure Yak's cost controlled but he brings nothing in terms of positive on ice impact. Hudler was top 10 last year in scoring and playing better much better recently.
I'm getting sick of the Oilers and the media with this BS.

Yakupov is just not highly skilled to be a top 6 player. He actually brings a lot of energy and could easily play 1000 NHL games of north/south hockey at the NHL level. I see him on par to what Ferland brings except Ferland likes to mix it up.

Good for Hudler for pulling his stats up a bit. Disappointing year, but he really isn't far off his career average, and measures up decently against the others.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Are you serious?
I see an over hyped Russian player who has some tools but can't think the game at the pro level. He's like a diet Taylor Hall

I would also say Ferland has shown more in the NHL in less time and without the draft pedigree. He also hasn't been the beneficiary of unearned ice time.

Really? I don't think it's even close. Yakupov can score. Is at the very lest a consistent 30 point producer on the Oilers of all teams.
Draft pedigree aside, Yakupov is the better player.

Insider trading:
if your name is not Connor McDavid then you are not untouchable in Edmonton
Ladd likely to fetch more than any other rental on the market
Coyotes pull multi-year offer from Boedker which will likely mean he will be traded
Rangers may make an enticing bid for Eric Staal
Drouin:Easily 10+ teams with the list growing
Sense is might be approaching finish line, so teams putting best offers forward
No obligation to trade him before deadline
Hamhuis may not waive NTC and stay in Vancouver
Kings seem to be less interested in getting a defenceman now with thin D market, may shift attention to forward with Gaborik out
Parenteau is in much demand
Islanders could be interested as he has shown chemistry with Tavares in the past
Panthers want a 3rd line winger, Weise seems to be target
Also looking at Ladd but will be considerably more expensive

Yeah he can score when he plays with generational talents. What else can he do? Skate around really fast making bad plays and turning over the puck constantly. Yak blows! What does he have one 20 goal season being spoon fed ice time. Ferland was our best forward in the playoffs and in that one series showed what he's made of.
Who's got more playoff goals?

I just looked at the stats, he doesn't even have a 20 goal season but he's career -83.
Who cares if you can score an occasional goal, when the other team is much more likely to put one in while your on the ice.

Haha, What generational talent? McDavid just arrived this year. He was also poorly developed in the Oilers system and still produced. Ferland had his 15 minutes in the Vancouver series, tried the same things against the ducks and had his bell rung hard. Hasn't done anything close to that this year at all.
I'd be shocked if Ferland ever reached the 30 point plateau. You give Yakupov the old rinse of the Oilers stank and I'm will to to bet he'd be a 50+ point guy on a better team.

Edmonton would be smart to deal Yakupov asap. Still hasn't found any consistency in the league at all and just 3 years and he's a UFA... what little value he has left is nosediving.

I bet not, hence why he's still and Oiler. It's a 200ft game and players like Yak and Baertschi have big holes in their games, that the limited amount of production they get can't make up for.
Ferland has intangibles even if he doesn't ever reach the 30 point plateau, which I think he will.

So Conroy watched NSH/MTL last night and is watching NAS/TOR tonight. Looks like the Preds have something interesting.
David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod
Of 18 teams on list for NAS/TOR: CGY Asst GM Conroy, PIT Dir of Pro Scouting Clancey, CBJ Dir of Hockey Admin Flynn, DAL head scout McIntosh

EDIT: HAHA, surelossed
Thats the 2nd NSH game in a row Conny has taken in I think. There must be some real tire kicking going on between the two teams.

My feeling is still that Hudler ends up in Nashville - still not sure what they would give up though.

I'm curious if Calle Jankrok could be available? RW/C. A little bit undersized but could be a decent 2-3 RW.
EDIT: Actually he's being used on the top line lately and finding come success with Ryan Joahansen. Doubt he is a piece they'd move for Hudler.

Craig Smith is having an off season and might benefit from a change of scenery. Buy low scenario?
No idea who else would interest the Flames. I doubt Jarnkrok is available.
