That sounds like she knows what she’s doing- and that scares the crap out of me!

To be fair, neither the NDP or UCP ran on a position on the electricity file and both f'd it up beyond recognition.
If I was still in Alberta I'd be switching to the NDP.

So I was just listening to Q107.3 and Smith was saying the Feds dealing directly with municipalities is actually red tape and her bill will REDUCE red tape.
She's beyond delusional. Just making up fake #### and saying it so blatantly that people believe that #### is actually pure gold.
Wtf??

She’s not delusional, she’s doing this intentionally. Calling her delusional suggests that she actually believes what she’s saying. She’s just another corporate hand puppet throwing out distractions left right and centre.

As long as it’s not like the US with their gross “malted” crap in everything instead of vodka or rum like it nature intended.

You see, it's harder to get a hold of the money when it's Feds > Muni's > AB Gov. There's too much red tape for them to work through to get their fair share, like having to collect via taxes or fines and give less back to the cities. So by having it as Feds > AB Gov > Muni's, it will be so much easier to get all that money right away in order to withhold. Less red tape!

So why wouldn't the feds just say "ok, whatever 'berta" and give the money to places that want it? Of course, that probably plays into Smith to demand the feds give us straight cash, and another reason why we need our own Alberta Revenue Agency to collect taxes before the feds can get their greedy paws on them.
Basically the only ones getting ####ed here are going to be Albertans. Thanks, UCP voters.

If no one fact checks why not?? she is effing disgusting. I would bring up more lies like how Nenshi operates a gay orgy club in the basement of Chicken on the Way.
Or how Jody Gondek is affiliated with a terrorist groups that will bomb pipelines and Christian private schools. Why not?

She also, apparently, wanted veto power over federal research grants because she mistakenly thought Justin Trudeau was responsible for deciding what research gets funded. Then, when she was corrected on that embarrassing howler, she doubled down and admitted that her plan is to veto funding for research that isn’t “conservative” enough.

I mean… this is actually indefensible, right? This isn’t conservatism, it’s ignorant demagoguery.

When you have formed your entire view of the world as being the subject of persecution, every gnat on your window looks like a life threatening directed attack on you.
This is the reward Preston Manning has given Canada. An entire school of politicians trained with this view. Thanks, ####wad.

That is just… weird. Red Deer, a town of 106,000, will grow to a million people in “a few years’ time”?
Does she just open her mouth and then random jumbles of words fall out?

She wants Red Deer to increase in size because it's a conservative fortress which means more supporters for her delusional party. She would say the same thing about any city; hell, if the gondola at Sunshine was for some reason a bastion of conservatism and populist schlock, she'd promote the hell out of that too as THE place (cable line?) to live in and develop.

The funny thing is, cities tend to get more liberal the bigger they get, with universities, diversity, and all. Maybe that’s why she wants more conservative universities.
