The rule of selling used cars or anything in general is, anything will sell at the right price.
I've sold about 10 used cars ranging from $2,000 to $20,000. And in all of those instances, they were sold to the first person who gave me an offer. The seller's must act rationally and treat a car as a car and nothing more. Never say firm price and always say OBO. Your object is to get an offer no matter how low or unreasonable and then work on it. I'd people offered me $7K on a $10K car and we finally settled on $8.75K.
Don't get insulted when you hear an offer. Only 1 of the 10 cars I sold was at full asking price. I've seen people treating my 10% discount on their asking price as an insult. We are selling and buying a property here and many people get far too sensitive about it and killed the deal. I've seen some of these sellers later on reduced the asking prices themselves.
