Eagle Day is a pretty memorable QB, and carved out a really good career in the CFL after leaving the NFL because he'd get paid more and allowed to be a QB.

Bo Levi is apparently throwing pain-free which is obviously good news for Stamps fans...
"Started throwing last Monday and got up to 60 throws, and then again this Monday we went 60 throws and the arm responded well both times. No adverse reactions. Just keeping to the schedule as the surgeons and everybody sees fit,” Mitchell said.
“Accuracy still feels good and that’s the thing I was concerned most about. When you’re thinking about your throwing motion or how your shoulder feels you tend to guide things. The accuracy being there early on was a big relief for me.”
The 2020 CFL season being pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic was a benefit for Mitchell’s recovery process, there was no rush. He’s been throwing at a quarterback target from 30 to 40 feet way.
“You’ve gotta make sure you really strengthen all the small muscles and the shoulder girdle, making sure it feels strong, you can land on it if you get tackled,” Mitchell said.
“I would say if training camp was today I would be out there doing my footwork and doing shorter throws, but I wouldn’t be out there ripping it yet.”

What a sad sad day for the CFL. I guess i'll still watch...... but seriously, Black and Suitor is making me a little nauseous right now.

Care to elaborate? I don't see any breaking news headlines.

Bittersweet announcement about Cuthbert. I will miss him a lot watching CFL games, but I get to hear him a lot more calling NHL games on a Canadian network.

Durant stealing money from the Bombers led directly to them signing Streveler.

It's looking more and more like Winnipeg winning the cup was indeed one of the signs of the apocalypse. I think the only way to reverse the fortunes of the entire planet is to award the cup to anyone but Winnipeg.
Commissioner Ambrosie, the fate of the world is on your shoulders. Once the cup is awarded to anyone else, we should be safe for another 30 years.

Argos violated $5.25 million CFL salary cap in 2019
https://3downnation.com/2020/06/10/a...y-cap-in-2019/
Quote:
Normally the league announces the fine in April of the following year, however Randy Ambrosie decided there won’t be any discipline due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although opposing teams were upset with the decision, Ambrosie wants to ensure the competitive balance of the league remains intact.
Statement from the league office:
The league made the decision not to impose penalties to any team that may be over the salary cap in light of the pandemic and the financial crisis it has created for clubs.
The last team to go over the salary cap was the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2014. The Ticats spent $8,939 over the $5 million cap and were fined the same amount.
|
CFL being the CFL here. It certainly is getting to the point where the best thing may be for the league to shut its doors. What is the point of a salary cap when certain teams are allowed to circumvent it without fine or penalty? The Argos have the deepest pockets in the league as $100k is nothing to MLSE as this is just so bad. If it really was only about money then why did they at least not penalize a 1st round pick like they did to the Als in 2007? The whole thing stinks and as a longtime fan I'm starting to wonder if it's wise to continue to invest time and money into a league which operates so unprofessionally. This is a bad day for the CFL.
