Portugal...
"Hey we're having trouble getting balls into the box where all of our attacking players are, I know! We should take a stupid cute short-corner, invite pressure and wind up back in our own half"
Brilliant stuff.

Remember everytime you see a short corner I die a little inside.

Coach still looking at VAR but that hit Rui Patricio's hand.

I think the ref had a hell of a game. No glaring missed calls and he kept excellent control.
And he didnt give Suarez a goddamn thing.

I thought Laxalt had an amazing game. Don’t know much about him but he was a pit bull on defense

I saw them all gesturing for that but the replay looked pretty clear to me, it hits the Portuguese keeper's hand.

Same here. Ultimately I'm happy with the days' results, the better teams won and we got to watch some great matches and there was a minimum of negative play.
Ironically Portugal and Argentina went out for the exact same reasons, they were relying too heavily on their superstar to haul their asses out of the fire and not leaning heavily enough on their younger talent.
I am very impressed with Uruguay though, I really like their style. They are a stalwart and defensively sound team that works hard and has tons of offensive talent.
Watching the interchange between Suarez and Cavani was a thing of beauty.
PSG bought the wrong guy from Barca.

Agreed! Haha and for the record my desire to see them lose has nothing to do with the country itself, I'm sure it's an awesome place and I'd love to visit. Just as a casual fan who only pays attention during WC / EC, I find I really want to punch Ronaldo in his stupid face, and they seem to be an especially divey team. They just get on my nerves. Slick unis though

As a casual fan it was Suarez who drove me crazy he was constantly on the ground. I found it quite annoying.

Suarez is annoying, but I have never been a fan of the antics pulled by Pepe either.
I hope France totally decimates Uruguay in the quarters.
