Yes. But there was play acting and a scuffle along the benches. The ref needed to go break it up. And what if there was a stomp.

So when VAR concludes there was no stomp why isn’t there an auto yellow card for simulation? That’s how you put an end to it. Or one for simulation and one for time wasting

I don't think the ref calls VAR it's the reverse.
The ref was over there breaking up the fight. Brazilians are in his face asking for red. VAR calls down saying wait sec let's see what happened. Yes Neymar should get booked but soccer will never change.
