There is only one solution, and crazy Eccelstone brought it up. Put sprinklers on the track and have them go off at random times. Like seriously, i don't think anything can save F1 anymore.

No one could drive in the rain like Schumacher. He won many races on talent over equipment. Mechanical failures were way more prevalent. I'd say that era was definately more exciting than this one.

The engineers have killed the sport by making these cars way to easy to drive. That goes for almost all motorsports. It's a shame really. Nothing better than watching a great driver claw his way to the front.

Funny you ask since some graphics were posted on reddit showing Schumacher’s dominance is a mirror image of Hamilton’s dominance. Both have won 52% of all races during their domination.

Unfortunately I got back in too late and missed the golden era of F1 from 2007-2012 when there were many, many exciting races and the title was frequently decided in the final race, often with multiple drivers in contention until the end.
Those were great years. The season Button won the championship was probably my favourite

Well that was one of the best dry race in the past 10 years since the Brazillian finale where Massa thought he won.

Are the results still up in the air?

No action for Verstappen. Results are final.

Yeah that was an amazing race. End to end excitement.

YESSSSSSSSSS...wow what a race!! Just got back from RBR and my god...that was everything F1 was / is supposed to be. We spent 8 hours baking in 38/39C weather (it was 65C track temp they said), two - 2hr train rides, and it was worth every drop of sweat, beer, and popsicle purchased. If anyone wants to go to the full meal deal F1 race...go to Austria. The atmosphere was awesome. They had a 20-25min air show with vintage bombers and fighters from WW2 and a couple jets (Eurofighter Typhoons I think). There was 10's of thousands Dutchmen there and they'd break out into singing their anthem. They were obviously stoked Max won as well.

I'm gushing...but it was soooooo much better than France and Paul Ricard (which isn't a bad track, just a terrible race).

If I remember I'll post a few pics when we get home mid week.

As for the race, we saw nearly every pass from our seats going into T2/3 (T2 isnt a turn) and we looked right at the Bull and the Mad Max seating stands. There was so much action I lost count of the passes we saw. Got a great view of how much faster a car with DRS is exiting T1 and up that long straight. The other thing you cant tell on TV is just how much elevation change there is. I dont know off hand but I'd guess 100m from T1 to T3...its ALOT. The track is basically on a hill.

I havent really seen good replays of the pass from Max on Leclerc, but from our sideways vantage point it looked ok. And from the few replays I did see, I would call it a racing incident to be fair. I REALLY wanted Leclerc to win since I had picked him...

Excited to watch it on PVR in 3 days.

Forgot add that they did a nice tribute to Lauda. I grabbed a few hats that they had given all the fans (should have 2 or maybe 3 extra). Can figure out a way to get a couple out to those still in the F1 pick 'em, random lotto or something else. Also grabbed a small prize for the little bit of extra $ from the trophy from RBR.

Will post pics of the hat and prizes when back as well.

And of course standings will updated for France + Austria.
