No one ever used the Patton Oswalt bit where he asks why signatures make things official? Seems a stupid remnant of the past.

1. Print your name.
2. OK, now below that, print your name but with whimsy.

It was the Statute of Frauds Act passed in the English Parliament in 1677 that made the signature the everyday marker it is today. The new law stated contracts, wills and grants must be signed, a measure that during its time was an effective guarantee against fraud.

Yeah, I'm parking further away from aspen trees and pine trees. Don't want that stuff dripping on the car. Cleaning with methyl hydrate is doable, but annoying.

Taking ICS 200 training. God I hate these industry courses that could easily take half the length but they make it take way longer to justify costing more. and no one ever calls them on it. I don't want to hear your anecdotes for half the time. And its all a bunch of nitpicking over nomenclature. The operations section chief reports to the bla bla chief, but that chief can only have three delegates.

People won't stop trying to tell their own crap that drags it out longer.

The best is 3 year renewal safety courses. Like taking fall arrest or aerial work platform for the 6th time is such a waste of time and money. Especially if you've been doing the work the entire time, I don't need to take a driver's test every 3 years and it's way more dangerous than any of that stuff.

Ugh I've done that one. So dry. I see the purpose, and when it would be good, but so much of it is everything I hated about emergency response; the politics of it.

At least it doesn't expire

Especially when fall arrest should be a 15 minute online course. It's a scam I tell you.

Actually it might be less then 15 minutes, are you working at height? Yes? Tie off.

There is no training worse than leadership courses heavily doused in symbolism.

I sat through 4x 2 hour sessions to listen to some broad talk about how business processes and work procedures are like a running river where the banks are constantly eroding and shortcuts are made. The best part about that training was weaponizing the threat of recommending coworkers to take it.

But the shortcuts increase efficiency! What does she want, an inefficient business?

Can we ever stop asking about cookies when visiting websites. We have this now forever? I don’t give a fata. Stop asking. It’s like airport security but a thousand time more useless.

Well yeah, but the rivers banks are your core company values, they are what give you corporate guidance. Sounds like someone isnt a team player :P.

If you’re walking and crossing the street and can't stop looking at your phone it shouldn't be a crime to hit and kill you.

At a cross walk but going a third of the speed of what’s normal. I pretty much sprint if cars are waiting because I feel bad for making anyone on earth wait for me.
