Never thought I’d see this day. Seems amazing with the confetti raining down.
Side note: what the hell is with the presentation and interviewing Larry Tannenbaum first? He’s not a beloved ownership figure. He should’ve deferred to the players.

Fans loved Demar; he was the face of the franchise.
Leonard was coming off injury, only had a year on his contract... iirc a lot of fans were really disappointed and very uncertain of the trade.
he was pushed all the chips into the center of the table with the trade, and also the Gasol trade at the deadline.
its paid off... getting to the Finals is a huge step.

95% of Raptors fans I know were happy with the trade...better than bringing back the same loser team

I think the Raptors can beat GS without Durant.

This team is unreal. Respond to challenge after challenge. They never give up.
That was a slugfest of the two best defensive teams in the league. If the Raptors can continue to play that kind of defense, I think they have a good chance in the finals. Most importantly, they are clutch when they need to be.
Listen, I thought that they were going to lose quickly to the Bucks, and early on it looked like that was going to hold true, but the team showed their metal and adapted.
The question is, can they do that again and beat the battle tested Warriors? KD's injury is a major factor here. Even though the Warriors played great without him, he's an elite big man who spreads the floor. I'm not sure the Raptors have an answer for them if he's playing, but, if he's out, they have a chance.
Either way, I'm proud as hell of this team. Quite an accomplishment.

Biggest sports accomplishment in Toronto since the Jays winning a WS.
This is truly nuts.
Wow. What a great accomplishment!! Still work to be done.

I loved DeMar, but he didn’t bring it when it mattered the most. Kawhi these playoffs has done more than any other Raptor in the history of this team could do in the postseason. That alone puts him in a class of his own.

That's a North American sports problem. With hockey and soccer being the exception sports wise (and doing it right), all leagues and sports give the award to the owners first. CFL is the only league that deviate from it's NFL counterpart with this.
It's stupid. The owners did play to win the championship, the players did with the guidance of their coaches. It should be the players or coach to touch it first since they're the ones actually making the impact on the playing surface.

God yes.
Kawhi is an ELITE talent that can dictate the outcomes of a game purely on his own. Demar is an incredibly gifted player but Kawhi is truly in a different stratosphere of NBA talent.

Kawhi is projected to surpass MJ's record for points in a single playoff if the Finals goes 6 games o.O
