Moths. Terrifying.
I've successfully trained two dogs to get rid of them, although my dog when a kid grew to be as neurotic as I was when I'd say "there's a moth!" and then he'd freak out that there was an insect on him, so I've tried to display a bit of composure this time around.
My pug is an utter moron and untrainable, but I digress.

Wait, does that mean you wish that they caught on as a hand fruit?

Putting air in tires. I imagine the tire blowing up and tearing me to shreds, allowing me to bleed out while in intense pain on my driveway floor.

I know this is irrational fears, but the tire thing...watch a few youtube videos of tires being seated on their bead. It's a hell of a lot more pressure than you adding some in your garage. They can take a huge amount of stress and don't blow up. I've mounted thousands of tires on rims, never had one incident, though they still scare the crap outa me half the time they POP on.

Every time I drive by Woodman Junior High I think about the possibility of getting locked in the courtyard/basketball court overnight.

I grew up near there and in the 70s and 80s a fear of Woodman was not considered irrational 😄

Yes those ones. And low in saturated fat too. I will demand my Safeway procure them.

I've become somewhat of a hypochondriac in recent weeks
"I'm coughing. Is that just a tickle in my throat, or am I gonna die?"

Mine is slightly different in that it’s that somehow people found out that 20 years later I missed one class in high school or university and I have to go back and finish. Pretty sure it’s all imposter syndrome.

Being alone in a swimming pool, particularly indoor ones, even more particularly at night.
I'll happily swim in a lake or ocean just about anywhere, anytime. But an indoor swimming pool, at night, empty? Yeeeccchchh... completely gives me the heebie-jeebies.

My irrational fear is quite relatable right now for many people as I've always been a bit of a germaphobe. Not to the point of a Howie Mandel, but I stopped opening doors with my bare hands and haven't sat on any toilet seat (including my own one in my own place) since I was probably around 10 years old. It certainly hasn't been hard to avoid touching things since covid as I've been living like this for about 30 years now. I always have napkins in my pockets for this reason.
The other really weird one is walking under enclosed paths, like when there's construction above and they box off the sidewalk underneath. I will avoid walking through these at all costs. I don't even know what I'm afraid of here, I just never do it.

I’m sure I said this in the last thread too but I know for a fact there’s a decent chance a shark can swim up through the grate in a swimming pool and attack me. It’s 100% scientifically possible. I suppose that might be slightly irrational.

If I leave a food item too long in the microwave and it explodes the explosion will kill me.
Getting sucked up into the sky, I have had that fear in the back of my mind since childhood. Especially at night.

You probably got abducted by aliens and don’t remember. That’s your body trying to warn you so it doesn’t happen again.
