2002 Nissan Sentra Window Stuck open
Hello all...
So driving home my drivers side window on my 2002 nissan sentra is stuck 100% open. I cant get it no matter what I try, pliers, anything.
Anyone have any ideas? What would be the best way to temporary wrap it, cut open a garbage bag and slam the door shut on it?
Any comments appreciated!!!! Thank you!

Could be anything. Do you hear motor running? Could be broken clips, fuses, motor etc
Try taking door apart if you can or just take a garbage bag for now

Probably your regulator assembly. Same thing happened to mine. Sentra are probably cheaper for parts. For my Honda a new assembly is 420!

Nissans are just the worst when it comes to their power windows failing.

Ok, I may or may not be speaking from experience here with my Sentra...but is that window lock button pressed?

The cable broke/disconnected and is nice and frayed and jammed in there. To get it up, take your interior door panel off, untangle the mess to free the window, and tape it up. Order yourself a new regulator online (assuming this is the problem) and replace.
Can you hear the motor trying to turn? If not it might be a burnt out motor, same idea, but your regulator/cables will be fine, just disconnect the motor from the regulator to free the window, put the glass up, reconnect the motor and it will stay up without tape until you get ahold of a new motor.

This happened to me once and I had to get the motor replaced. Almost exact same facts.
The reason the motor wore out faster, I was told, was likely contributed to by a mis aligned path on the window, causing it to rub on the rubber bits, leading to a build up of gunk. It worked ok after the repair but was really awkward, especially in cold weather.

I just can't believe how quickly it failed, the motor didn't just get weaker and weaker, it was just gone.

For the most part thats how electric motors go. They either work or they dont.

Thank you for all the replies. Just to close the loop on this thread, turns out the switch was broken. $5 part and a $350 repair bill (including diagnostic charges).
Paid $130 for diagnostic charges today, part not in till Friday, but at least I got my car back with the window up so my work-outside parking stall isn't so pathetic looking with a garbage bag on my car!
