During the Montreal game, I think some Sportsnet apologist mentioned that McDavid actually had the flu twice. Conflicting stories now, of course.

Oilers should be ashamed of playing someone that ill, but.. hey, it's the Oilers.

So... Connor gets the flu every time he puts on an Oilers Jersey? Is that the message here?

Tomorrow's article - Spector reveals that Leon Draisaitl has been battling German measles this season.

A pro athlete (arguably among the healthiest people in society) with team-paid medical staff has the flu for nearly 2 months. If he can't fight it off, what chance would the normal public have? He needs to be quarantined, that man is patient zero in an outbreak. Seriously.

May as well cancel the season and hand the Stanley Cup to the Oilers. McDavid wins all individual awards, including Vezina and Norris.
Agreed.

I kind of have my doubts unless he time traveled back to the 1500's and picked up the Black Death then singlehandedly destroyed it with his uber immune system and 25th century intellect.

If I was any team in the NHL I would want an investigation into why a guy with a contagious disease is even taking the ice.

This is either shoddy work as per usual by the Oilers and their training staff, or its complete BS by Spector (Which would be no surprise).

With his illness, I expect that the Stanley Cup would be too heavy for him to lift.

Wow, the man is clearly a demigod. Incredible reporting Mark.
Reading Spector gives me stomach flu symptoms. Hopefully, if I stop reading him, they won’t last 25 games.

Wow! And still managed to play what, almost 25 minutes a game, give or take. Maybe it’s the flu where you can’t win a face off?

So Mark Spector, the PRESIDENT of the PHWA, does a piece about McDavid being sick for 25 games, and Spector doesn't ever consider it appropriate to ask the Oilers why he was never given some time off to get better?

What a pro.
