IIRC he and a few other Flames went in on a natural food grocery store in Canyon Meadows that didn't work out.

Any word on what happened?

Great skater, great shot.

What struck me most about running into him on campus one day is that he was absolutely ripped and way bigger than i thought he would be. His legs were enormous. He wasn't a noted bruiser - he was a skater with a big shot. he kept himself in great condition.

This is real sad news.

Well that's surprising given he was a fitness nut. I suppose heart issues could have been hereditary or he had an undiagnosed defect. Damn shame when it happens to anyone let alone the ones that take care of themselves like he did.

Sucks. Not only a Flames alum, but a lifelong member of the all-name team.

Erik Duhatchek was kind of shaken to hear this news on 960 during his interview once they got Flames confirmation.

Wow, I can't believe it. I liked ZZ back in the day when the Young Guns were developing. He's so young to have gone. RIP Zarley.

Tragic news.

Didn't Zalapski attempt to mount a comeback a few years ago?

Still remember ZZ for that slapshot in 1995. Game 7 overtime versus the Sharks. Shot was labelled for the corner but Wade Flaherty's knob of his goalie stick made the save.

And then Trevor Kidd lets in a stinker to end the series. Fleury was flying that series. I think 14 points in the series.

RIP Mr. Zalapski.

Had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times, he was always a great guy. Sad news indeed.
