Only problem is Lokomotiv is "going for it," so they have a very veteran-heavy defensive group. Even next year, it'll be hard for an 19/20 year old to get into their rotation.

The Second game in the OHL match up and the Russian goalie is standing on his head.

Starting to hope that the Flames get another first rounder and snag Ekblad and one of Bennett or Tkachev. Preference being Tkatchev. That kid is slick.

I would be shocked if Tkatchev is a first round draft selection come june.
You just don't see those types of players taken in the first round very often (if at all).

Is this years draft deep enough? Thought this was a weak year and that kids in a longer term development arc would be a 1st round priority. Kids 5'11 (unless Sportsnet messed that tidbit of info up) and 140 lbs. Just needs a couple years of bulking up. Even better is he's projected as a second rounder. If the Flames do in fact get Ekblad that means Tkatchev would be there early in the second.

Rafikov was out there with 12 seconds to go on a defensive faceoff. On a scrambled draw got the puck out. Good to see him out there with the game on the line.

Liked what I saw from Rafikov in the bits and pieces of games I've seen. Seems like a mobile two-way defender with a good first pass and the ability to get the puck out when he needs to.

Its not like 2014 is a really bad draft year its just the top guys arent elite. 20-50 range players should be about the same as most other years it seems.

Klimchuk is #18 tonight in the Subway Super series.

So far Rafikov is -1 tonight, game is only 10 minutes old.

Only seen Klimchuk once so far, not really paying attention but he looks very strong out there, bigger player than I was expecting. I haven't seen him play before so it's nice to finally see what he's like.

Klimchuk is definitely a fire cracker. He's been pretty noticeable to me this game. Nothing really stands besides his work ethic, he seems like he could be a well rounded player.
