The way these guys battle for each other is pretty impressive. The blocked shots, the double goal mouth save with Rittich and Gio, and Rittich's immediate concern for his injured teammate. This is the kind of stuff teams rally around come playoff time. I love the camaraderie we're seeing with this team.

They said on 960 his absence has been changed from illness to upper body day-to-day, and he could play Thursday.

So, from flu to head cold.

"Game management" is still, by far, the worst thing about the NHL product.

Call the f$#&ing rule book.

Dizzyness, headaches, nausea and other concussion symptoms are similar enough to a headcold or flu that it could be delayed symptoms from the hit he took a few nights ago when he had to go to the quite room for concussion protocol.

Not good if this was actually an undiagnosed concussion. If I was the Flames I'd shut him down for another week just to be sure. Being in top shape for the playoffs is the most important thing (and also his long term health).

have definitely had the reverse happen , my son came home once after a bus trip following a game in Med Hat where he recalled taking a glancing hit to the head. felt fine during the game but after the bus ride headaches and nausea- etc. we were concerned initially re: concussion but actually as things evolved was clearly an early viral illness and the retrospective recall of the head blow was just recall bias

Although he’s a heart and soul guy and does a lot of tough jobs is it time to give Hamonic some rest? Lots of dmen available plus Hamonic has had injuries (a normal human would probably still be convalescing from).

He’s been pretty great all year but last game he had some moments. Not suggesting benching him because of atypical night rather the current personnel situation and who could use the rest.

Is there another player that has that old school hockey look to him? Playoffs haven't even started yet, and he looks like he was run over by the Super Dave ambulance.

Stone may look the same if he played as much, but yeah...dude is all-in as a player.

In fact I wouldnt mind seeing Stone play in Hammers spot against the Sens...give the man some much deserved rest.

Yeah that was the worst game I've seen Hamonic play for a really long time. Something like 4 or 5 turnovers. Chalking it up to a one off.

I'd bump someone up to second pairing and give Valimaki some NHL games.
