Man, the Coyotes love their vanilla 10-goal depth players.

I've always found that team like the 'Yotes, Devils and Panthers have no real direction in who they acquire for forwards. Just a random collection like a team auto picking in a fantasy draft.

I think Weal's trade value probably puts Czarnik's trade value into perspective.

Both 26 year old C/RWs that shoot R

Key differences being

Weal cap hit $1.75 mil
Czarnik cap hit $1.25 mil

Weal UFA after this season
Czarnik signed for another season then UFA

Weal 28gp 3g 6a 9pts 13:57 TOI/G
Czarnik 27gp 2g 4a 6pts 10:44 TOI/G

You'd think Czarnik would never be part of a trade by himself. He'd be part of a trade for a good guy, along with other assets, if the seller needed a roster player.

I seem to remember Weal being sought after much like Czarnik was too - guy who seemingly hadn't gotten a real chance but looked like he could do something when given one.

Looking like garbage for garbage deal.

Then again, the Yotes suck AND are dealing with a few significant injuries as well so Weal will likely get some good opportunity to show he could be more than just an AHL level talent playing on an NHL team, which is all he's been to this point.

Is it deadline day for near waiver status players?

I guess Chiarelli napped through Fletcher’s texts.

Yup that back pass to no one in OT, allowing Tkachuk to take it and have Brodie finish it off could've finished his time. He played two nights later vs the Blues, but scratched the last two games.

I know some Flyers fans who hated Weal. They are glad to be rid of him.

John Chayka should not be running an NHL team. The only reason he is is because the Coyotes are a joke and nobody else wants to do it.

On the flip side, Weal gets to wheel some of that Arizona night life. I'd much rather be a fringe NHL player in Phoenix vs Philadelphia, where everyone just hates you.

2005-2006 Flyers finish the season in last with 56 pts: 22-48-12.
Flyers lose the lottery and don't get to draft Patrick Kane, instead draft James van Riemsdyk #2.
JVR traded 1-for-1 for Luke Schenn.
Luke Schenn traded for Jordan Weal + 3rd Rd pick (Carson Twarynski)
Jordan Weal now traded for nothing with a side of nothing.
I still rue over losing the lottery that year, and only dream about how many cups the Flyers would have with Patrick Kane...

But on the plus side, they got back JVR in free agency?

He sure stood out in the Flames-Flyers game, and not in a good way.

That is some Chiarelli-esque GMing right there.
