Braun can log 20 minutes a game, but he's limited in what he can do. He's a #4 and he won't help you offensively. He's also 32 years old. Brodie, for all his flaws, is a much better all-around defenseman.

I wouldn't move Brodie without a 1st rounder coming back, or a really nice sweetener in addition to a 2nd.

What about something around Brodie, 26 and 88 for 15, 46 and 50

Does Brodie equal Andrew Shaw?

Just caught the segment on TSN. LeBrun also said that the Flames are not shopping Brodie very hard.

It makes sense. You need a lot of defencemen to win a Stanley Cup. You certainly aren't selling below value on ANY of our defencemen.

I am sorry, I just can't stand him.

I can’t stand him either, just like I hate Marchand and really hated Kenny the Rat Linsman.

But I’d love to have him.

I thing we need some players to hate as much as I love watching Monny making some toast.

Glad to hear the Flames are not pushing hard to move Brodie. Yeah if a great deal for a 1st rounder or top 6 RW is offered go for it but if the return is middling I'd rather keep him for the season and lose him for nothing.

Flames will have to move someone. $13.5 million to sign Tkachuk, Bennett, Hathaway, Mangiapane and 2 goalies isn’t enough.

Yeah if they don't move out some bodies this weekend it's going to be tough for Treliving to get some of these contracts done. I have to think something is going to happen today with at least one of Frolik or Brodie moving out.

It sounds like the salary cap uncertainty has put a lot of the expected wheeling and dealing into a holding pattern. Didn’t someone post that today is the day that teams will get the final cap number? That might get things moving.

Pretty sure the NHLPA votes today on the matter. Makes sense that its put some teams in a holding pattern. $2 million difference in cap space is huge for some teams.

Yeah its looking like teams with cap space hold the most valuable asset this summer. We will find out if any of them figure out how to make use of it.

Considering all picks in the current draft that would have been Brodie capital have been made I suspect this drags out into July

Well the Hamonic trade happened a day later than we thought with some of the picks being a year later than we thought. Still plenty of time for Brodie to be traded for 2020 picks
