They had a good product but a weird business model that was probably better suited for Farmers markets. Everything was frozen sausage with nothing fresh so you couldn't really just pop by for some fresh brats to BBQ. The cost of a retail storefront must have been too much unfortunately. They also refused to use nitrates so everything looked the same and it also took them away from being able to offer charcuterie.

I liked the sausages I bought though. 8/10 would buy again.

A cafe, apparently. I'm really happy to see it progressing, it had looked like nothing was happening with it for the longest time.

Yup, the owner of that land is going to build an affordable housing project on it. You can see renderings and info here: https://www.facebook.com/sunnysidegrocery/

I'm hoping that with the new development being just white in colour he plans to have the artists come and do their thing on the final product like he did with the old grocery store.

He also owns some other single family home properties on 2nd avenue and is working through the process of putting laneway homes on them.

It's not gone yet, it's just been tightly packaged into 2 big red bins.

Yeah, it opened a week or two back. I've been a few times. It's much smaller than any of the other Sunterra locations. Few groceries, mostly pre-made meals plus a rotisserie for chicken dinners and that sort of thing. They have some issues to work out still as right now it's pretty disorganized with placing orders, etc. but it's great to have them in the neighborhood. I used to live near the Keynote location so I'm very happy to have a local version for quick meals.

When my wife and I went there the food was good but the service was really terrible.

Urban Shave (used to be next to Cotto) moved across 10th to where Yi Ling Cheng hairstyling used to be. I used to go to Yi Ling a few years back and she'd always mention how much her rent used to go up annually. Guess it became too much.
