Played Sirocco yesterday. Carts are 90 degrees now. Greens still in rough shape.

It's not a super easy walk, but when I played there as a teenager, I only ever walked. Very doable.

All I learned is that I'm old. My hips have been like taught elastic bands ever since. Who knew golf was so strenuous? lol

It gets easier on the body as you play more.

Seemed like most people were walking it any time I drove past it.

Yes Bearspaw is definitely walkable. There is a couple tough pushes. They always had a cart come down and pick you up off 9 and 18 but highly doubt that is still a service.
I played Sirocco today and yes the greens are in very rough shape still as someone mentioned above. Thought I would see some improvement week to week but the winter kill on them is really bad. Could be a very tough year for the greens on that course.

Playing Bearspaw.Retain or renew their liqour license?
Remember breaking a zipper on my bag at the turn at Delacour before they had theirs.

Played Mt. Kidd today. Yep, the greens are hard. You really have to play for a hard landing and roll out. Beautiful conditions though.
Best moment was driving the par 4 5th and two putting the birdie. That felt good.

Played Maple Ridge Muni yesterday, glorious weather and the course is like 98% amazing. The greens are pretty much all perfect condition as well as the fairways. there are about 2-3 tee boxes that could use some more loving. Managed one of my best rounds there/ever and shot 78 from the blacks. Nice to see the 3 circles although could of dealt without the 2 doubles. lol

Played Nanton on Sunday with Dion. VIP rate is $25 walking (which we probably should have done, but a few too many beer on Saturday night meant we coughed up the $38 for a cart).
Greens are superb and as advertised, probably could roll them and lower the mowers a bit, but I think they are protecting them for the summer. For a rural, public course I noticed next to no ball marks. For how soft the greens are, I expected plenty. Nice to see that the members/golfing public are fixing them.
Not sure how much irrigation they have on the course aside from tees and greens and think that's reflective of the patchy fairways. Rest of the course is as expected, found the fairways to be uneven and inconsistent, but the bunkers are nice and firm and if I had to find a complaint the sand was so-so, with a fair amount of stones.
This course features on of my biggest pet peeves, shaggy tee boxes!! Dion would know better but they looked like they haven't been cut in over a month. This is by far one of the easiest things on the course to maintain, yet so often forgotten about.

Not sure why the tee boxes were so shaggy, they get cut on a regular basis. It doesn't help that the greens crew have the weekends off. Staff levels were paired down to help reduce costs.
Irrigation has always been poor on the course. They also do a poor job of patching up the bald spots on the fairway and some of the tee boxes. We've had the same greens superintendent for far too long and we need some fresh blood and ideas.
Us members have complained for years about the stones in the sand traps but nothing ever gets done. We have one guy that maintains them but never does anything about sifting out all the stones.
I'm surprised you didn't complain about all the putts that rimmed the edge of hole. You had far to many.
Enjoyed golfing with you and your friend Trevor

Blue Devil is so overpriced even at the best of times, but this is crazy. One thing that doesn't help drive home how bad it is though, is the amount of people willing to play there.
Tonight in the midst of on and off rain and horrid greens, every hole was full when I biked by.

If you have a chance to play The Winston, take it.
It's absolutely glorious. I legit felt bad taking a divot or making a ball mark on the greens.

I’m seriously enjoying my membership at Cottonwood. I’m playing 2-3 times a week and already seeing the handicap drop (they have an app that tracks literally everything).
Such a beautiful course to play from t to green.
