I am actually curious what is up with Hudler. He was out for a large portion of last season with an illness, though I never heard what it was exactly. It seems to me that this illness is what made Hudler deteriorate so much. I hope that Hudler has completely overcome whatever illness he had, and I hope he signs somewhere in the NHL and does well again.

Congratulations on knowing the code for the eye-roll emoji. I guess I'm supposed to be impressed.

Hudler had 35 points in 53 games as a Flame. Which is a 54 point pace over 82 games.
And he finished the season with 11 points in 19 games as a Panther, which you conveniently ignore.

Quote:
That was a season after scoring 76 points.
A pace that he never came anywhere near at any other time in his career.

At no point was he offered a contract extension.
You know this how?

Quote:
While he was traded, he was still a UFA the next offseason.
So it was the Panthers who let him walk for nothing, after trading two draft picks for him. Maybe it's their management you should be calling names.

Last year injuries plagued him, but unless you're implying management has the gift of clairvoyance, that's not something that could have been predicted.
He was obviously a much less effective player in 2015-16 than the year before, and yes, people saw that coming without clairvoyance. He was plainly injured in the Anaheim series in 2015, and never looked like the same player after that.

Finally, if Hudler "crashed and burned" out of the NHL (in an injury plagued season), that's still an upgrade on three more years of a "6'2, 215lbs" anvil.
So what? Are you seriously trying to claim that the Flames gave Tanner Glass a PTO because they think he can play on the first line? Step away from the bong, dude.

Quote:
This management absolutely values useless size over actual effectiveness.
Which is why they didn't even bother offering contracts to Johnny Gaudreau and Andrew Mangiapane, amirite?

Quote:
I wouldn't put it past them to sign Tanner Glass, but that doesn't mean they "should" sign Tanner Glass.
Because they're idiots who know nothing about hockey, unlike your vastly superior self, amirite?
