I would call Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel just a part of the Tank Girl Effect.
Black Panther is the first aftershock of the Blade Quake. After a few tremors from Steel and Hancock.
I'm just so glad that Millennials were around to get excited about correcting the racial and gender disparity during the 90s, in superhero films. It warms my hearts' cockles.

The impact of both BP and WW are overstated. They’ll have some long term effects, no doubt, but they’re not going to lead a revolution in the tentpoles that are greenlit by studios.
The biggest reason is that it is a long term effect. Black men and women who read the Falcon and BP in Marvel comics 40 years ago are current industry influencers. White males will continue to dominate the box office for the foreseeable future. Not to mention Asians and Latinos are still way underrepresented in popular media.

at 1:57 Tony is with all of them in their new suits, so obviously he gets rescued and brought back to earth. Like we didn't assume that already.
Have to be careful though since they have faked out these trailers before.
In Infinity War they had Hulk in the team shot in Wakanda but he actually wasn't there in the movie.
I love how they are handling this though - have we seen anything outside of the first 10 minutes of this movie yet? Probably not.

Also I think the fancy matching suits also will probably play some role in the plot around where you think it's one Avenger that's getting maimed by Thanos, when really it's another

I know I am.
I haven't seen Captain Marvel yet but I don't think that's fair. Her movie was announced in 2014 so to say they're shoehorning her in isn't correct. It's likely been the works for her to appear in this movie since then.

I don't have an issue with it. People are assuming that she's just going to come in, save the day, and be the one that defeats Thanos and that's not going to be the case.
Plus Carol Danvers / Ms. Marvel / Captain Marvel has been an important character in Avengers recent history in the comics, so it's not like they just made up some character to come save the day.
Didn't think it was an issue that they only recently introduced Spider-man and Black Panther right before the start of the Infinity War Arc either.
It's like dropping Superman into the last season of Game of Thrones.
Yes, it's not the same because "it's a Marvel character and in the Comics blah blah blah etc", but effectively, in this arc of movies, it's the same. This character has earned nothing in the MCU.
No, I just want an earned conclusion. Dropping in some cosmic being at the crux of a struggle is ####ing cheap.
The movie will still make 2 billion dollars, so I'm sure no one will care, but it will be disappointing if Captain Marvel plays a critical role in the finale. If she's some side action like Spider-Man and Black Panther were, that's another story. I get that they've sacrificed story in the past to push their phases forward, but this should be different.
What a time to be alive and be a fan of superhero movies, it's never been better than right now.
