Wolf sounds like he's found his stride. Drury18, CG & the other regular baby Flames watchers: do you think he deserves a call-up? Could he be the type of spark plug that gets the big team rolling again?

Not quite yet. He's still a bit undisciplined and is still a little on the slow side.
Addy goes to the PP.

Meh, that Utica team is loaded with AHL fodder, and minimal decent prospects.
Our leading scorer is a 19 year old rookie prospect (Poirier), and our leading scoring Dman is a 20 year rookie prospect (Culkin).
In fact, our top five scorers consist of three rookies (Poirier, Arnold, Culkin) and two sophomores (Hanowski and Ferland), none of which have reached 24 years of age yet. You have to go all the way to the NINETEENTH scorer on the Flames roster to find a 25 year old, and that's Brodie Reid who's back in the ECHL now anyways.
The Comets top four leading scorers are 27, 26, 26 and 25 years old respectively...and all have multiple years of AHL experience, and three of those four have dozens of games of NHL experience to boot.

Vancouver organizationally, is bereft of talent. Even Jake Virtanen isn't all that and then some. They have a couple of decent pieces like McCann, but not a lot. Once they enter rebuild mode, they are going to suck for a long time.

Thanks for the updates CG. Just watching the game now and knowing the ending, I just want to see Comets faces punched in. Jeez. I looked at the boxscore when I got home and we weren't even outshot that badly. The penalties were nuts though. 1/8 for the Comets, 0/5 for the Flames. Sheesh.
Completely agree about the comment that the guys need a break. They had a long December. 9 games in 15 days, including a 7 day roadtrip that they played 4 games. Even with the best conditioning, that's grueling. And only gets worse because after the break, they actually play 7 games in 11 days. They go on to finish January with 6 games in 21 days with 5 and 6 days in between games.
