I have to say though, between this series, 'The Making of a Drug Scandal' and a couple of others....it paints late 80s to late 90s Boston as a Post Apocalyptic Hellhole.

I'm working my way through 'Trial 4' right now, I'm about half-way through.
I'm enjoying it, its a fairly interesting True Crime/Wrongful Conviction Docu-series.
I think it's one of the best crime doc's I have seen in a long while.
Hard to watch at times. I even shouted at my TV.
I think that hardest part to swallow is that it wasn't long ago that this occurred and further, the Boston PD continued to stone wall up until a few years ago. Uggh. Even thinking about it now makes me angry.

I like the interviews with the Boston PD officers..."We didnt do anything wrong!"
Narrator: "They did."
It definitely reminds me some of 'Making a Murderer' because the Cops knew they screwed up and instead of coming clean on it they let someone rot in jail for 20 years and if they get caught now they know they're going to get sued into oblivion.
So now they have to Double-Down because each year this guy spends in jail is just piling up in a potential settlement. The Cops know this. The Judges know this. The Prosecutors know this.
So it is always in their best interest to keep him in Jail.
Its infuriating. But I've still got 3 Episodes to go.

Mosul just arrived on Netflix. It's a story of the Iraqi Ninevah SWAT squadron fighting ISIS in Mosul. They operate outside of the Iraqi ground forces chain of command. It's quite intense and at times emotionally draining. However, it pays tribute to a group of decent men who refuse to surrender despite being emotionally and physically wounded.
Definitely a fantastic movie! Not sure if its better than the old guard but its up there for christmas movies.
I was wondering where I saw Klaus before he looks identical to the one in rise of the gaurdians when I Googled it there were threads wondering if Klaus is the prequel to the one from rise of the gaurdians
I watched the Battered Bastards of Baseball, a documentary of a independant minor league baseball club in Portland that was named the Mavericks. They lasted about 5 seasons beating the crap out of teams that were affiliated with the Major Leagues. Owned by Bing Russell the father of Kurt Russell.
An amazing look at a team of odd balls, players rejected by the major leagues or players past their time that spit in the face of established baseball. Kurt Russell played for them for a season before destroying his rotator cuff and returning to acting.
Great story.

We finished the Queen's Gambit tonight. Great series, but the final episode was all kinds of cheesy. I figured it would have a conventional sports-movie ending. What I didn't expect was the finale to be like an episode of the Gilmore Girls.

It's funny, I've heard the same from others, but I haven't been more satisfied with the final episode of a series since Breaking Bad.

I worked just north of Mosul while this was going on. The Pesh Merga are heroes and patriots (to Kurdistan, not Iraq, which needs some real help still). The US has done them dirty lately.

I'm way late to the party but am watching Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Man this show is great, on the 3rd season now. I may have been too young when it originally aired, but I'm really enjoying it. And now I'll start to recognize all the gifs and references posted here, bonus!

If you really enjoyed the first two seasons, the next four are going to be a treat.
